Not much discussion going on or have I missed a thread?

Noma - how can it be when they were all photographed together?

Nomama · 04/01/2015 12:39

Did you read what I said, what the woman named said?

Yes they met, they talked, they know each other... but SHE SAID she had never had sex with him.

On 2011 The DM interviewed her, she made no claims of having had sex with him.

No one has been able to confirm the identity of the woman the DM interviewed, she may or may not be Jane Doe #3.

Nancy66 · 04/01/2015 12:44

Nomamma - yes, I know that's been said thanks.

LuluJakey1 · 04/01/2015 13:03

As I recall, Sarah Ferguson accepted money from Epstein to 'pay off some of her debts'.

LuluJakey1 · 04/01/2015 13:13

£15,000. Odd amount for a billionaire close friend of her ex- husband to give her towards debts that were £3million+ as I recall (do correct me if I have her debts wrong). A close friend of her ex- husbands since the early 1990s, so no flash-in-the-pan friendship.

All very odd. Very questionable judgement by the pair of them. I have no interest in their questionable morality except in that he is a member of the Royal family with the privilege and power that brings him and she benefits by association.

I believe, for example, we pay for/towards the running of Buckingham Palace where this man has a grace and favour apartment, as we pay for guarding Windsor Castle in whose grounds he has been given a house.

RandomNPC · 04/01/2015 13:21

I don't know if the allegations are true or not. He comes over as an odious character though, full of self regard and arrogant. That entire generation of the Royal Family are pretty appalling IMHO.

lem73 · 04/01/2015 13:33

I think Andrew and his offspring are a waste of space. He is the worst of the four siblings. I don't believe he has done anything criminal but I am disgusted at the types of people he has chosen to associate with. The royal family needs some radical pruning.

Nomama · 04/01/2015 13:36

Oh! So just because his public persona is one you don't like or that he is a member of a family you dislike it is fine to castigate him with no evidence?

Great! Wonderful! Pathetic

Nancy66 · 04/01/2015 13:44

it's more than the 'public persona' though isn't it? He continued a friendship with a sex offender when he could have ended it - and borrowed money from him.

Viviennemary · 04/01/2015 13:44

I am sick of the whole royal business tbh. Why on earth are these people better than anyone else. They are certainly not. Prince Andrew's has been indulged and given positions which he shouldn't have held. The trading one especially. It's all to do with courting favours and toadying up to billionaires. It's about time they cleaned up their act.

RandomNPC · 04/01/2015 13:45

Hey, Nomama, you seem very fond of him. Why don't you offer to pay for the parasitical git's lifestyle? Cos I'm sick of it.

lem73 · 04/01/2015 13:48

I said I don't believe he has done anything illegal no matter what I think of him personally. This story keeps getting repeated and there is really nothing new in the papers. He has associated himself with some very sleazy people and as a result has made himself vulnerable. I think if you're in the public eye you need to be a little bit smarter.
For the record I have a lot of respect for most of the royal family. I actually feel sorry for the Queen being embarrassed in this way. I think if Andrew had a proper meaningful job it would be better for him.

Nomama · 04/01/2015 13:50

Not really Random. Not said anything even remotely like it. That would be you trying to undermine my view by making it, in your opinion, ridiculous simply because it is not identical to yours.

But I am, as ever, pissed off with bandwagoneering in the meeja and the thoughtless rants of those with other agendas.

Lots of people have friendships with sex offenders and know nothing about it. Just because all of the people in this story are extremely rich does not make it right to condemn them all without evidence.

If this was about the man next door who had been to party where another man had an underage girl who slept with someone, would you leap as easily to the conclusion the man next door was guilty of anything?

Nancy66 · 04/01/2015 13:53

But Nomam, PA DID know his friend was a sex offender. Because he went to prison for it.

Eltonjohnsflorist · 04/01/2015 13:53

The case isn't under investigation here though is it? It's all
Taking place in the US, totally seperate legal system from the UK. Not sure that that has anything to do with MNs reluctance to allow the threAd

ApocalypseThen · 04/01/2015 13:54

I actually feel sorry for the Queen being embarrassed in this way

You might feel sorry for her, but she was clearly a useless parent. Not one of her offspring could be called a decent, moral or even functional adult.

Bakeoffcakes · 04/01/2015 13:57

But Andrew continued with this friendship after the man had served time for sex with an underage girl. They have been photographed together.

Why would anyone do that?

Nancy66 · 04/01/2015 13:57

PA is never going to be investigated or prosecuted so he's off the hook in that way. He'll just have to wait for it to all die down (like he did 3 years ago ) before he starts off on another round of jollies.

Bakeoffcakes · 04/01/2015 13:58

That was to Nomama

RandomNPC · 04/01/2015 13:58

I think I'm with the Bolsheviks here.

Nomama · 04/01/2015 14:00

Nancy - I am perplexed! That response makes no sense.

Yes, everyone knew Epstein was guilty, once he had been arrested and convicted!

Or are you suggesting that everyone he ever knew had always known he was procuring underage girls?

If you know that then you need to contact someone in the USA and offer up your evidence!

lem73 · 04/01/2015 14:02

Yes apocalypse there is definitely a lot of truth in that. Anne isn't too bad although apparently is dreadfully snobby She's been very sensible with her own kids.

Nomama · 04/01/2015 14:04

Sorry, missed your post Bakeoff... many people do continue to have friends after prison sentences.

That does not mean they are guilty of the same offences. It is unthinkably stupid behaviour, but not criminal in and of iteself.

It is all well and good shouting for justice but when the facts are as clear as mud it is pointless to spout off about any aspect of the case, we don't know and could be, as has been done far too often, getting extremely vitriolic about something that has not occurred.

The reportage is vague, in some cases quite old, and the conjecture is getting more and more ridiculous.

lem73 · 04/01/2015 14:05

I do find the photo of him with his arm round the girl a bit sickening considering she's not that much older than his own daughters.

Nomama · 04/01/2015 14:06

Are you referring to the cropped version of that picture or the full one?

And give me a moment while I round up every man who has ever stood in that pose. Let us line them all up and shoot the sickening bastards!
