Ok so DH finally caved in after 7 years and bought me my dream Christmas present, a kitten. He's delightful and I love him. This means that I won't have anything at all to open on Christmas morning as the present from the DC and any others from relatives will be Boxing Day. This makes me feel a bit sad and grumpy. WIBU to expect a tiny pressie on the day? Just a mug or a £5 sweet bracelet or similar.

YABU - kittens are the greatest gift of all and trump everything else :D

Cabrinha · 22/12/2014 18:36

A sweet bracelet?
You're what, 5? Grin

FWIW, if I gave a present early I would also give a wrapped present on the day. So YANBU!
However, I would find it acceptable to wrap up flea powder. Be careful what you wish for! Grin

You don't need permission from the internet.

MsIngaFewmarbles · 22/12/2014 18:38

He is beautiful and all his gear and jabs have cost a fortune I know. Here he is btw

I dunno. Get him to wrap you up a carrot or something Confused

You're lucky. I get utter shite on Christmas Day. I don't usually even bother opening the few that I do receive. I'd love a kitten as a present Sad

Idiotdh · 22/12/2014 18:39

Definitely!
Food PJs or toiletries.. How easy is that?

SoonToBeMrsB · 22/12/2014 18:40

YANBU. DP and I went on holiday instead of doing presents last year and we didn't see family until the 27th so I had nothing at all to open on Christmas Day and it was SHIT.

We've all made sure to exchange gifts before the day this year so I won't have a face like a smacked arse again Grin

hiddenhome · 22/12/2014 18:40

Ffs, that's MY kitten! Grin

Marmiteandjamislush · 22/12/2014 18:40

You never know what he might have planned, so don't count him out yet. I will admit I am Envy of your kitten though. I might feel better if I saw a picture though

Idiotdh · 22/12/2014 18:41

Matching set sweet necklace and bracelet.

AlpacaYourThings · 22/12/2014 18:41

Ok, the kitten is adorable.

Give me the kitten I want it, I want it and I will give you a present to unwrap on Christmas Day. Deal? Xmas Smile

hiddenhome · 22/12/2014 18:41

Dh once got me a Hello Kitty colouring and sticker book for Christmas. I can't describe how offended I was.

They ended up in the bin Confused

Marmiteandjamislush · 22/12/2014 18:42

Ok now I'm v Envy! Idiotdh, what are food pyjamas?

elephantspoo · 22/12/2014 18:42

Could you imagine if they invented kittens that never grew up!

RedPony · 22/12/2014 18:42

Ooo matching kittens Grin

Yambabe · 22/12/2014 18:43

hmmm, have you any idea of the chaos that will ensue if you open presents with a kitten in the house? You will still be finding bits of shredded wrapping paper in unexpected places for years afterwards.

Be thankful for the peace and quiet and that you will not be facing a huge repair bill for your vacuum cleaner..... Grin

MsIngaFewmarbles · 22/12/2014 18:44

Ha hidden that's weird!

GraysAnalogy · 22/12/2014 18:44

Awww such a nice cute kitten!

OP spare a thought for us who won't be getting anything at all

hiddenhome · 22/12/2014 18:45

I laughed when I saw your kitten bed Grin they are nice and comfy though.

I would love dh to get me a Ragdoll kitten.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 22/12/2014 18:45

You send me your kitten & I'll send you the slippers I'll no doubt get. Deal? Xmas Grin

MsIngaFewmarbles · 22/12/2014 18:46

DH and DS will both have presents to open so we won't be depriving him of the joy of wrapping paper destruction Smile

DH and DS can play with DS's scalextrix and I will cook lunch whilst quietly sulking in the kitchen and downing a bottle of prose co

I know, but you have a kitten. Surely that's better than a boring dressing gown or whatever. Your kitten will snuggle around your neck and you will feel happy Smile

DingDongMerrilyOnSherry · 22/12/2014 18:51

Get DH to put a bow on the kitten for Christmas morning.

MsIngaFewmarbles · 22/12/2014 18:51

I did say I was acting like a spoilt child!

OP posts:
kickassangel · 22/12/2014 18:53
