My Ex is an idiot. He will argue over any little thing and thinks his word is law. I am always wrong and 'stupid' according to him. But I'm pretty sure I'm actually not 'stupid' in this case.

He has given 22 month old DS this little bouncy rubber ball. He was chewing on it when he dropped him off yesterday and I took it off him as I thought it was dangerous and a choking hazard.

Ex got very angry and said I was controlling what he gave our children and that I was stupid. He told DS that 'mummy was being mean and that he wasn't allowed any toys'

I've posted a photo of the ball, next to a tea spoon so you can see the size of it.

Was I unreasonable?

He really thought I was just trying to piss him off. He started ranting and swearing over it. I can't believe I actually had a relationship with him, what was I thinking Shock

Does sound as though he makes a habit of exercising his professional stupidity skills on a permanent basis. I'd be into chucking stupid things away and shutting the door in his face.

Not just about 'our child might actually die' but also in the stomp, pout and tell the child passive aggressive crap like a thwarted seven year old.

Reading through MN this morning, are there any sensible, normal, non wankerish men left anywhere on the planet who are even half way decent partners or parents and have made it to emotional adulthood? Please, someone reassure me!

Yanbu. Those toys state not suitable for children under 3yo for a reason. I wouldn't even let my 10yo who still outs things in his mouth have one! There's plenty they can play with without it needing to be something dangerous to them.
