My Ex is an idiot. He will argue over any little thing and thinks his word is law. I am always wrong and 'stupid' according to him. But I'm pretty sure I'm actually not 'stupid' in this case.

He has given 22 month old DS this little bouncy rubber ball. He was chewing on it when he dropped him off yesterday and I took it off him as I thought it was dangerous and a choking hazard.

Ex got very angry and said I was controlling what he gave our children and that I was stupid. He told DS that 'mummy was being mean and that he wasn't allowed any toys'

I've posted a photo of the ball, next to a tea spoon so you can see the size of it.

Was I unreasonable?

That is the exact size and shape of object which would be easy to swallow and difficult to dislodge. He is an idiot.

DuploChaos · 07/12/2014 14:29

YANBU. Ex is a twat.

pictish · 07/12/2014 14:32

Yanbu. Choking hazard written all over it. Foolish man.

nocoolnamesleft · 07/12/2014 14:33

OMFG. If you set out to design something to be a choking hazard in a small child, that would pretty much be it. Okay, it wouldn't get through the vocal cords, but it could sure as hell lodge above them, blocking the airway completely. Your ex is a fucking moron. And that's being generous. And his reaction...it should at least have been "omg, I didn't think, I'm sorry", not then having a go at you. Hmmm, maybe you should have removed the balls from both of them?!

Yanbu

And until the idiot realises how his stupidity could kill a child I'd be restricting contact.
