...and to offer this beverage to my adult friends?
DP says this is very childish. I thought it was perfectly normal. who is right?

If you offered that to me I would be very happy! I love marshmallows in hot chocolate!

BackforGood · 10/11/2014 22:20

Well, it's not "everyday" but it's a special treat drink, yes, so, if you invite your friends round at a time you'd be treating yourself, then fine.

I see hot choc as a 'going to bed' drink, or possibly a 'just come in from sledging' drink though, so not really something I'd generally be offering friends Grin

Not childish though, just not generally served when people pop round for a cuppa.

ElphabaTheGreen · 10/11/2014 22:20

YANBU - I'd be delighted to be offered that, but hold off on the marshmallows for me as I'm all awkward and vegetarian (gelatin in marshmallows) Brew

BellaVita · 10/11/2014 22:20

Oooh love hot choc and marshmallows, some whipped cream wouldn't go amiss either Grin

Shockers · 10/11/2014 22:20

Did your adult friends clap their hands in delight like I would?

If so, he IBU.

EatShitDezza · 10/11/2014 22:21

I'd accept!

Throw a bit of rum in and I'm happy as owtb

EatShitDezza · 10/11/2014 22:21

Owt**

Shockers · 10/11/2014 22:22

Never squirty stuff though... proper whipped cream!

MoonlightandRoses · 10/11/2014 22:22

Not if it's made with a mix of milk, double cream, dash of condensed milk and a tot of brandy too...Grin

Janethegirl · 10/11/2014 22:23

Hot chocolate, marshmallows and cream along with a double chocolate muffin is my default lunch at work when it's 2:30pm and there's no other options! Absolutely delish, not too healthy I know Grin

Snog · 10/11/2014 22:23

Adult friend adored it but had never had it before.
I was a bit surprised but DP was unsuprised as its not a drink for adults apparently.
Do cafes serve this or sm I dreaming?

Allalonenow · 10/11/2014 22:26

It probably needs a splosh of Baileys to make it properly grown up Brew

Travelledtheworld · 10/11/2014 22:28

Not unreasonable On a cold day....
And have some herbal tea to offer as an option for the veggies and people on diets

JeanSeberg · 10/11/2014 22:29

Who put him in charge of categorising grown up drinks?

pookamoo · 10/11/2014 22:30

Cafes definitely do serve this. Yum!

Your DH is BU. Smile

GoringBit · 10/11/2014 22:31

Snog, Costa did hot chocolate with marshmallows a year or two ago (and probably still do) - it was fabulous.

Coco0123 · 10/11/2014 22:31

I always get this as a treat in nice posh cafes! Most definately not intented for kids the ones I have had.

InfinitySeven · 10/11/2014 22:31

They do serve it in cafes and it's my everyday drink... I can't tolerate any other hot drink.

Tell your DP that not everything fun is childish! Or just tell him how old he's getting ;)

Sallystyle · 10/11/2014 22:35

If you like hot chocolate you need to get yourself down starbucks and have their new xmas honey and almond hot chocolate with whipped chocolate cream!

I don't drink tea and rarely coffee so I would be over the moon to be offered hot chocolate.

SinglePringle · 10/11/2014 22:36

I wouldn't thank you. Not a fan of chocolate - hot or normal - nor marshmallows.

Good coffee or Chai tea? Yup, that'll do.

Sallystyle · 10/11/2014 22:37

And if you want thick hot chocolate that you can eat from a spoon if you make it correctly get yourself some Spanish chocolate.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 10/11/2014 22:38

Your hubby doesn't know what he's missing!

For what it's worth, whenever I make hot chocolate, for myself, ds or anybody else, it always has marshmallows in, is topped with whipped cream, which then has marshmallows on top and then sprinkled with cocoa powder!

PrettyPictures92 · 10/11/2014 22:39

You would be vvvv unreasonable to not drink hot chocolate with marshmallows, and not offer it to anyone else too!!

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 10/11/2014 22:43

I loathe Marshmallows and anything made with hot milk so would not be my drink of choice!

ILovePud · 10/11/2014 22:49

You're hubby's bannoonanoos, hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows is the drink of the gods! ElphabaTheGreen, I have had some lush veggie marshmallows from a website called 'need sweets'.
