dh poppeed out with ds to buy school shoes. I asked him to pick up some briefs for me as I was running low. He came home with plain full briefs.
aibu to be mildly offended by this. I do own some post csection big pants but really.

Bloody hell, I think you've got a cracker of a DH if he actually went to the trouble of going to get them, my DH would point blank refuse cos he knows he'd never get it right

Nowt wrong with granny pants, they are my undercracker of choice these days, much more comfy than anything else!

Did you use the word "briefs"? He might have picked the pack that had that word on, thinking it was a precise instruction. Was DS there, you don't buy sexy pants for your wife while DS watches without possibly feeling awkward.

I LOVE full briefs, I go for the ugliest, comfiest pants I can find! I like something practical that doesn't roll down under my wobbly stomach

DP hates my pants but I just can't get on with anything smaller, I end up picking them out of all sorts of places

Dh would be terrified of trying to do that errand for me too but it's quite sweet that he chose comfy ones, rather than ones he'd like you to wear.

I was an emergency admission to hospital a few years ago and asked DH to get me some pyjamas.
He did, size 18-20, blue and white stripe.
I was a size 8-10 at the time.

My dh did this last birthday. I asked him to get me some knickers, told him what size to get. I received an M&S five pack of black and white bikini pants, perfectly normal and boring and actually very useful! At a later date he then made some mention of my lack of attractive (shall we say) underwear. When I pointed out to him that he'd had a perfectly good chance to get me some underwear more to his liking and failed, he was somewhat nonplussed! Bless 'em, they can't win. Don't take it personally, he probably didn't even notice what size they were.

If you said 'briefs' then that is what he bought. You should have specified 'bikini' or hi-leg or whatever.

I am more amazed that you were running low on pants? I have millions of pairs of pants - I can't ever see the drawer of draws running out??

I would be puzzled also. However dh knows I only wear matching bras with underwear so he would have brought a set of something.

I don't understand what the problem is with a child and man being able to go into underwear section and buy something. Ds1 is 4, and happily helped me in rigby and peller the other week. Both children and dh also manage to choose tampons without cringing also..

My DH popped into Primark the other week and I asked him to get me a 5 pack of knickers.

2 hours later I received a phone call from a very confused DH, asking if I wanted high cut/low cut leg, high cut/low cut waist, if they should cover my bum cheeks fully or not...and wtf is a Brazillian cut?

I told him to leave it and he brought me home a doughnut from Greggs instead.

I'm running low on pants. My excuse is that I live a country where I can buy extremely expensive brands at twice the price of the UK because they are from Europe or cheap ones that feel like really cheap nasty rough fabric.

This year a lot of new brands have arrived but my newly teenage DD would be freaked out by me wearing the same brand as her, so Etam et al is out. Victoria's Secret is opening up soon though.

Agree with PPs, he probably just picked up a packet marked Brief without too much thought, especially as DS was with him.

Artandco depends on the age of the child really. Until they were about 9 my DDs were totally unaware that I or DH use underwear. I mean they knew we did but it wasn't on their radar iyswim. Then one day they were mortified just walking past the display of women's undies in the supermarket. Then they would have preferred that I didn't wash their underwear with ours for a while. They got over that after a short time.

I too adore absolutely huge cotton pants that come right up to my bra. My husband doesn't mind them at all. When he started learning English, he used to make up words for things, and he called these 'Pussy Bags'. His own pants are 'Willy Bags'. A bra is a 'Lo-lo Bag'. We still use these words, but have to be careful to speak softly if we're in M&S!

My DH did similar to Worra's and blames M&S underwear department in Manchester for the migraine he started with later that day
He probably did just pick up the nearest pack of knickers OP with no offence intended!
