To eat the trick or treat sweets

I am so fed up today, everything has gone wrong & now I can't stop myself from eating the bucket of haribo I bought for Halloween.

Who else can't stop bingeing on food or whatever when they are miserable? I know I will regret it later.

I buy trick or treats that I don't like....having said that we're in a rental atm and haven't a clue whether we'll be flooded with the little blighters or no-one!

gillyweed · 23/10/2014 18:23

I can't. That's why after I bought them I stashed them in my husbands car.

I can't be trusted with harribo , or any other treats for that matter!

CreepusExplodus · 23/10/2014 18:25

YANBU. I always eat them :)

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 23/10/2014 18:27

YANBU. I have done this in the past, but now I don't buy anything.

SaucyJack · 23/10/2014 18:32

Don't do it. Go and get something nice if you must eat all that sugar.

ithoughtofitfirst · 23/10/2014 18:44

Do it.

Tuck in.

Allice · 23/10/2014 18:45

YANBU I buy and replace the trick or treat sweets every year. Am eating mini milky ways just now, mini maltesers are long gone!

seasavage · 23/10/2014 18:58

Om nom nom Blush what Halloween sweets? No, it couldn't have been me buying those last week!

Minikievs · 23/10/2014 19:31

Allice yep me too. All the twixs are gone, maltesers are next on my hit list. Then it'll be an emergency dash to the shops before the little horrors turn up. Again. The only ones that are safe from my greedy paws are the chupa chups.
Go for it!

partialderivative · 23/10/2014 19:33

This has reminded me; we still have a load of stuff left over from last year!

[smug]

ithoughtofitfirst · 23/10/2014 19:35

I will happily have your chupa chups

Minikievs · 23/10/2014 19:52

I'll swap you for some Haribo and/or Snickers

ithoughtofitfirst · 23/10/2014 20:28

Deal

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/10/2014 20:34

Haribos are safe with me the two bags upstairs are sealed.

There's still a week to go, so if you must, you must. Wink

Latara · 23/10/2014 21:10

I'm back home now and I've not eaten too many of the haribo. I went to my sister's and she has encouraged me to buy a healthy meal so I don't get the sugar high followed by the crash! So I went to Tesco, bought a healthy meal & some grapes to eat instead of sweets.

I really have been fed up & miserable today & I do binge on things if I am unhappy. It's mainly work & family related issues.
So I am trying to keep healthy food in the house & binge on that if I have to. I'm having a Halloween party & I've given most of the treats to my mum to look after...

Why have you bought Halloween sweets more than a week in advance?

friginilla · 23/10/2014 21:15

We've gone through 2 bags of mini wham bars since last Tuesday the original and Irn Bru flavours were just to good to give away.

frazmum · 23/10/2014 21:16

Quality control is very important. Eat them and you'll know which are the best to buy for next week. Grin

WorraLiberty · 23/10/2014 21:19

These threads happen every year and I still don't understand them.

People keep saying they're continually eating and then replacing Halloween sweets/tins of Christmas chocolates, because they have no will power/self discipline/bad relationships with food.

So why do they actually keep buying them so early? Confused

Latara · 23/10/2014 21:23

I'm trying to be organised Mintyy & spread the cost of Halloween because I'm having a party too as well as usually getting up to 12 groups of trick or treaters (I live on a big estate).

Last year I bought 2 tins of celebrations; well that was a mistake. Galaxy is one of my favourite chocolates. I had a group of toddlers call round the next night & had to give them cereal bars.

Plus even big Tesco runs out of packs of sweets before Halloween.

But if I'm honest the real reason I started this thread was because I am feeling fed up & wanted to chat to someone.

OP posts:
Mintyy · 23/10/2014 21:32

Sorry you feel fed up [hsad].

Mumsnet is great for a random chat.

Mintyy · 23/10/2014 21:33

Where is my Halloween sad face??

Latara · 23/10/2014 21:37

I can do a Halloween Grin

Guitarghoul · 23/10/2014 21:39

Am chuckling at the toddlers receiving cereal bars Grin
