I have to empty my bagless hoover every month. Gets full up of dust and Greg fluf.

My mum recons she only does this once or twice a year.

How often do you need to empty yours?

Every week! Hairy dog and cat!

Tigresswoods · 19/10/2014 07:05

All the time!

Lagoonablue · 19/10/2014 07:06

After every time I use it.

halfdoneharris · 19/10/2014 07:10

Every time I use it but we have a big house and 2 cats.

Iffy2014 · 19/10/2014 07:11

I have a little Dyson Animal, so it needs emptying about once a week or so. When I had a bigger hoover, it was probably about once a month.

3pigsinblanketsandasausagerole · 19/10/2014 07:17

Atleast once a week!

Pumpkinification · 19/10/2014 07:17

I empty it every time I use it. Small house but new carpet in one room.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 19/10/2014 07:18

After every use (daily, have a dog and a toddler). Hate putting it away with dust in it!

PoisonousCentipede · 19/10/2014 07:19

When I realise it's not hoovering properly anymore.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 19/10/2014 07:19

Every week. I see it as a good sign if the vacuum cleaner is picking up a lot of dust. If it isnt, then it isnt doing a good enough job.

PureMorning · 19/10/2014 07:19

Every evening. Small flat but messy kids and pet hair

UnwittingAccomplice · 19/10/2014 07:20

For the whole house clean, it gets emptied every time it's used. The little handheld one really depends on what it's being used for.

Her vacuum cleaner must not work very well...

LightastheBreeze · 19/10/2014 07:22

About once a month, I did have to wash the filter recently though, hadn't done it for a couple of years at least Blush. It sucks much better now.

lisucbgiberiocnha · 19/10/2014 07:25

3 times a year

laurageordie · 19/10/2014 07:26

Eek now I think I've got a broken hoover! The bag is big and there is no one at home during the day

We have fortnightly rubbish collection so I time emptying to coincide with one of those , either fortnightly or monthly. Separate hoovers for upstairs and down.

mumofboyo · 19/10/2014 07:38

Every time I use it. It gets clogged with dust otherwise. In the house we lived before, I only needed to empty it every few weeks. This must be a dustier house Confused

addictedtosugar · 19/10/2014 07:41

After every use, or every other use.
We have a cat and 2 small boys.

Must remember to wash the filters more often tho.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 19/10/2014 07:42

Ours is emptied every time we use it too! It fills up really quickly, it's a Dyson upright thingamy.

BeckAndCall · 19/10/2014 07:44

Every time i do a full hoover round - i dont see how it would work otherwise - the cylinder gets full after about an hours worth in our house.

OverAndAbove · 19/10/2014 07:46

It gets emptied when we can see it's full - it's a Dyson so it's very clear. Probably about every 2 to 3 weeks

MardyBra · 19/10/2014 07:51

And your Aibu is...?

nbee84 · 19/10/2014 07:52

When I had a Dyson it was every 3 weeks or so. Now I have an upright it is every 3 months or so. I think the bags hold more and also the dust and dirt is compacted. The bag definitely feels very heavy compared to when I lifted the canister off the Dyson.

londonrach · 19/10/2014 08:24

When its full, every week or so. Cleaning the filter makes a huge difference to suck power

Babieseverywhere · 19/10/2014 08:31

Every time I use it...not that it NEEDS emptying that often (Dyson) but that way it is already ready to use, when I get it out...especially when I am in a rush !
