To get annoyed with posters saying "what X said"

PickledInAJar · 18/10/2014 23:12

It means I have to scroll back up to find out what poster 'x' actually had to say. It seems lazy to bother to post and then post absolutely nothing!

Can you tell I'm too lazy to scroll back up to re-read what 'x' actually DID say?

Does anyone else not want to bother to backtrack to read that, or is it just me?

Hmmm

I used to long for a rubber stamp that one could boink onto the screen that read 'what Hec said'

But she's MIA Sad

SaucyJack · 18/10/2014 23:21

What doughnut said.

TheMagicChicken · 18/10/2014 23:22

absence of 'like' button

CrazyOldBagLady · 18/10/2014 23:24

Sometimes you get to a thread and everything that has to be said has been said. There's no point typing out all the same stuff again.

Kleptronic · 18/10/2014 23:25

What, now. Hecate's MIA?

DoughnutSelfie · 18/10/2014 23:27

Not seen her around for YONKS

JillySuper · 18/10/2014 23:28

What the OP said.

PickledInAJar · 18/10/2014 23:32

Haha - should've known is get everyone saying "what x said"

Silly ole me!

But really, do you all scroll up to find 'x' and read the post before continuing?

OP posts:
Littlefluffyclouds81 · 18/10/2014 23:33

I would take it as a massive compliment, if it happened to me.

It doesn't happen to me.

AgaPanthers · 18/10/2014 23:34

What Littlefluffyclouds81 said.

You don't have to scroll up, it's just a thumb's up for the person wot wrote it.

Lookslikeimstuckhere · 18/10/2014 23:35

^What fluffyclouds said

Glittermud · 18/10/2014 23:35

I agree with what I said.

puntasticusername · 18/10/2014 23:35

What Littlefluffyclouds said.

There you go, just for you Smile Ps it doesn't happen to me much either.

JillySuper · 18/10/2014 23:40

What puntasticusername said. PS puntasticusername I really like your user name Wink

puntasticusername · 18/10/2014 23:44

What JillySuper said Ps I love your books Grin

Notso · 18/10/2014 23:44

It depends, can be annoying but usually if you've RTFT then you know what x said.

Perfectlypurple · 18/10/2014 23:50

notso I always RTFT before posting but don't remember what poster said what so would need to scroll back

I also really don't like it when someone concludes a tale with 'reader I ......'. I don't know why so many people put that.

puntasticusername · 18/10/2014 23:53

Purple assuming your tongue is not in your cheek Smile see www.gradesaver.com/jane-eyre/q-and-a/reader-i-married-him-91199/ for an explanation.

TiffanyToothache · 18/10/2014 23:53

It works the same when posters reply to someone too.

No, x, if I did that then blah, blah

Then scroll, scroll, scroll. . . If she did what?

puntasticusername · 18/10/2014 23:53

Argh sorry www.gradesaver.com/jane-eyre/q-and-a/reader-i-married-him-91199/

Lookslikeimstuckhere · 19/10/2014 00:24

Actually I do kind of agree. I always RTFT but sometimes, when they are really long I can't remember who has said what and then I have to go back to try and find it if I can be arsed.

HoneyDragonMumshnet · 19/10/2014 00:34

Hec is still at times amongst us. You are all probably still agreeing with her .....and pissing the op of doing so Grin

ChippingInLatteLover · 19/10/2014 00:38

Sometimes though, someone has said exactly what you wanted to say. If it's only a few posts before mine I will say 'What x said' but not if it's up a long way - then I'll cut & paste it :)

Sorry you don't like it, life's full of little irritations Grin
