Nah.

It were all fields around here it were.

Vitalstatistix · 14/10/2014 19:31

yup. It is.
I was captured in 2005 Grin and one of the first threads I read was about how mumsnet had changed (for the worse of course)

I must be honest, I haven't really seen an awful lot of difference that day to this.

MNHQ delete a bit more readily, that's about it.

ArsenicFaceCream · 14/10/2014 19:35

Yeah. Never enough hugging

BlackeyedSusan · 14/10/2014 20:41

I have only been about for four years, seems much the same. Apart from chat you can read a lot of theold threads anyway to find out for yourself.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 14/10/2014 20:42

Yes. Same shit different day

CuttedUpPear · 14/10/2014 20:43

Well yes...but this week seems to have been a bit mental.
I am not used to seeing so many idiots giving 'advice' on here, maybe it's just me or maybe not

nikki1978 · 14/10/2014 20:48

I have been here for 8 years under various names. I think there is a bit less of the mumsnet royalty going on nowadays but I think that is a good thing.

answerthebloodyphone · 14/10/2014 20:52

Yup.

Thebodyloveschocolateandwine · 14/10/2014 20:55

Yep 8 years here and it's exactly and reassuringly the same.

I blame the parents. Hmm

mrsminiverscharlady · 14/10/2014 20:55

Hmm. I don't know. On the one hand the 'it's mad on here atm' threads come up as frequently as they ever did. On the other hand I think the level of flaming, hostility and downright aggression towards some posters started when AIBU became a topic in its own right and has increased steadily ever since.

Less cliquey though. But I miss cod!

Roisin · 14/10/2014 20:59

Yup.

I was first here over 14 years ago :-o My boys have grown up as Mumsnet babies. I have a complete break from time to time, but I always come back when I want advice or shared experience on a particular phase.

In 2000 it was weaning 18 month ds2 off a dummy. In 2014 it's supporting ds1 through uni applications!

ghostyslovesheep · 14/10/2014 21:01

why yes - yes it IS YANBU there Usual Grin

ssd · 14/10/2014 21:02

yep, same as it ever was

pictish · 14/10/2014 21:03

Yanbu...it's pretty consistent in its varied nature.

Oakmaiden · 14/10/2014 21:04

I seem to recall there was no such place as AIBU when I first joined, people just used to write it in their thread title. Although I might be remembering wrongly.

At any rate, I don't recall the in depth analysis and pulling apart of posters that goes on now, from when I first joined. But I suspect that was more because I used to hang out in the baby threads.... then I went on a long break from about 2005-2010.

In the 4 years since I started posting again I don't think it has changed much.

wooooosualsuspect · 14/10/2014 21:05

Nice halloween name, ghosty.

The trolls are crap now a days though.

OP posts:
tethersend · 14/10/2014 21:07

Every day is Groundhog Day.

ghostyslovesheep · 14/10/2014 21:08

Odd trolls lately - a spammer obsessed with FB and a shouty Ocado man ...lamer than a lame duck with extra lameness

TeaspoonAndAnOpenMind · 14/10/2014 21:08

been here since 2007, in cunning disgueeses, and the only difference I ever detect is a reticence to engage with me if I've just NC'd - the curse of the newbie, I suppose. But even that has been the case since I joined.

WorraLiberty · 14/10/2014 21:10

((((Hugs Usual))))

Yes hun, it's exactly the same as it's always been bubs xxxxxxxx

WorraLiberty · 14/10/2014 21:11

I've just read it back and I actually want to cut my own tits off now Sad

ghostyslovesheep · 14/10/2014 21:11

Tickers

that would make it lovely round here Grin

wooooosualsuspect · 14/10/2014 21:13

Yes, Active looks pretty much the same everyday.

Smoking is bad thread.
MIL is evil thread.
Benefit claimants are scroungers thread.
Dogs are baaaaaaaad thread.
Cats rule thread.
Seasonal variations , Trick or treating is begging, ban fireworks, My xmas presents were crap etc.

OP posts:
Alisvolatpropiis · 14/10/2014 21:13

It hasn't changed since I joined a couple of years ago.

TheBogQueen · 14/10/2014 21:13

It was funnier 10 years ago

Less sanctimony

But I can't bring myself to care all that much
