In one day...I don't care it's 'only October' they were screaming my name so loudly!

Phwoar get in there.

ILovePud · 12/10/2014 20:40

You're not alone, that's why there's a crimbo Aisle in Tescos from September onwards, who buys mince pies now and puts them away until December? I had a piece of stolen for lunch Smile

ILovePud · 12/10/2014 20:41

stollen and it wasn't stolen Blush

Teddybeau1988 · 12/10/2014 20:42

Yanbu

When I buy mince pies I eat the whole packet, as no one else likes them here.

PiperIsOrange · 12/10/2014 20:43

Why not, they will be past there best before date < not that I take any notice of them>

DulcetMoans · 12/10/2014 20:45

Can I have one? I have a tea here and am missing a treat.

fizzymittens · 12/10/2014 20:46

Three? That's going it some to be fair! One fills me up but I do find them a bit of a stodgy food.

TheHoundsBitch · 12/10/2014 20:46

ahh, I wish I had a mince pie....

juneybean · 12/10/2014 20:46

But where is the parkin? :(

Scholes34 · 12/10/2014 20:49

Parkin's for Bonfire Night (and other times of the year too).

juneybean · 12/10/2014 20:51

I got hooked on it last year and they took it away. I want parkin before all the Christmas stuff grr!

FishesTit · 12/10/2014 20:55

To sound less greedy they were small(ish) squat ones. Not the huge ones which are all pastry and no filling. I'm definitely feeling a bit Christmas like.

OP posts:
ShadowStar · 12/10/2014 20:57

Well, you can't keep them until Christmas. They'll have gone off before then.

Allalonenow · 12/10/2014 21:02

YANBU
In fact you've cheered me up, as I was thinking today maybe I'd bought my Pepparkakor too early, but as its OK to eat mince pies I must be in the clear Grin

FishesTit · 12/10/2014 21:05

I also bought wrapping paper and wrapped the presents I've already bought...wish I had a tree! Tomorrow I might go nuts and play some Christmas tunes!

VermillionPorcupine · 12/10/2014 21:05

YABU

They're a December-only food. Late November at the very earliest - and i'd stretch to New Years Day.

Not October.

VermillionPorcupine · 12/10/2014 21:06

Tomorrow I might go nuts and play some Christmas tunes!

OK, you're not unreasonable. You're crazy!

FishesTit · 12/10/2014 21:08

Surely Vermillion if they're a December only food the shops wouldn't sell them in October knowing they wouldn't keep. Mince pies all year I say!

Bettercallsaul1 · 12/10/2014 21:29

Why not Fishes - we already have hot cross buns throughout the year and little Easter eggs practically all year! Eat up, I say! (I may join you.)

MyFairyKing · 12/10/2014 21:30

YABU for making me crave mince pies when it's a rainy Sunday night and I'm in my most unsexy PJs. Angry

Bettercallsaul1 · 12/10/2014 21:34

I now crave mince pies as well. And maybe a nice slice of Christmas cake - mmm, marzipan and icing...

Gunpowder · 12/10/2014 21:36

YABU they are disgusting!

Parkin on the other hand...

beccajoh · 12/10/2014 21:37

Yes, VU. They're vile!

kickassangel · 12/10/2014 21:38

In my younger days I easily put away mince pies by the dozen. You go carol singing, you've got to have a mince pie and some mulled wine at every house, well, maybe a couple in every house. Soon adds up.

avocadotoast · 12/10/2014 21:39

I nearly bought a massive pack of about 15 in Costco earlier. I'd definitely have eaten more than 3 by now, so no, totally not unreasonable Wink
