Basic cleaning question...

It occurred to me today that our cleaner uses the same floor moo for the bathrooms, kitchen and downstairs hard floors. And I have no idea if she uses desperate cloths for the bathrooms.

Disclaimer - I am really crap at cleaning and have always had a cleaner. Please don't flame me for that.

My cleaner buys cleaning products and I pay her back. And no realise she hasn't bought new cloths since she's worked for me - 5 years or so...

Aibu to be a bit worried? To be fair, no one has been ill and everything looks clean...

What's the regime for cleaning cloths? When I've cleaned on my own (rarely) I've used disposible detol wipes.

I'm rubbish at this grown up stuff. Sorry for asking such crap questions...

Oh, and my cleaned has very little English, so trying to ask her about it today was useless. She just looked baffled. She is really lovely, trustworthy and kind. I'm just not sure how hygienic she's being (definitely the sand mop god bathroom and kitchen floors)

Does she use kitchen roll in the kitchen?

I do.

My mother used to use 'rags' for cleaning. Worn out flannels, vests, sections of pyjamas. She didn't see the need to buy commercially promoted cleaning cloths. Clothes have been in the washing machine so it's known that they will not disintegrate.

Yes, we were poor.

Mil uses underwear for cleaning.

I once had a cleaner who used a cloth on the loo and then I saw her polishing the kitchen sink with it.

Grim. There were plenty of cloths available so I still don't understand her doing that.

Blimey, I have no idea what my cleaner uses. She uses my cleaning products and my mop but I don't know what cloth she uses. Not mine I don't think as they never look like they've been used. She puts everything she needs in a big bag and takes with her as she goes round. She uses lots of kitchen roll (hers not mine). But i don't know if she uses different cloths for different rooms.

Thanks all. Food for thought! I think I'll buy some colour coded cloths and ask my cleaner to put them in the washing machine when she finishes each week. She doesn't like jcloths. No idea why.

Really grateful to each of you for your help!

Fear of cross-contamination has always stopped me from having a cleaner.
Sponges for washing-up and kitchen surfaces. Changed every 3-4 days.
Washable micro-fibre cloths for damp dusting. Washed after every use.
Washable microfibre cloth for bath and sinks. Washed after every use.
Disposable wipes for toilets. Usually 3-4 per toilet, for all the different parts.
Rubber gloves chucked straight after cleaning bathrooms every week.
Separate mops for kitchen/diner and bathroom floors.
