There's one in every room. No windows open. They just appear. I'm in bed and there's one rattling around the ceiling in that pointless fuck-witted way. I hate that noise. I hate their stupid long legs. I hate the stupid way they crave the light. And I hate them. AIBU.

I don't mind daddy long legs at all... but swap wings for two extra legs... hysterical screaming....

it is horrible when there is something nasty in the room.

TryingNotToLaugh · 28/09/2014 22:32

Apparently their only purpose is to hang around until they get eaten by a bird.

Made me feel a bit sad for them when I heard this. So yes, yabu.

And pick yourself up off the floor, you look ridiculous.

Gileswithachainsaw · 28/09/2014 22:34

Aw they are a pain but they are kind of cute.

They don't have much of a life really and they mean no harm

TryingNotToLaugh · 28/09/2014 22:35

I actually have decided that they have secret powers of teleportation.

Bet the birds don't know about that.

OraProNobis · 28/09/2014 22:37

I'm squealing like a stuck piggy here! I DO look and sound ridiculous! And the thing is- yesterday I calmly and humanely removed a saucer sized spider from the living room that had two grown men whimpering!! It's just the noise and the juddering about that these fuckers do. I can't stand it!!

OP posts:
sonjadog · 28/09/2014 22:38

They don't have much of a life really and their legs fall off easily. They can't help their rather unappealing physique. Give them a break.

OraProNobis · 28/09/2014 22:38

I'm going to put the light out and trick it into another room.

TheHoundsBitch · 28/09/2014 22:40

YANBU. Flappy fuckers Angry

HappyGoLuckyGirl · 28/09/2014 22:43

YANBU

Loathe them. Angry I can't sleep if there is one in the room. It's that stupid fucking noise their hideous bodies make when they hit the roof. Boak.

Kill it.

Southsearocks · 28/09/2014 22:43

I hate them. My brother used to chase me around the house with a DLL in his hands. Sometimes he was pretending, sometimes he wasn't.....

OraProNobis · 28/09/2014 22:47

Oh thank you!! I thought it was just me because everyone was saying what a shit life they have. Well I'm sorry about their shit lives but fuck off out of my room! I can't sleep with that in here. It might land in my face ffs!
Southsea your brother sounds like the very worst kind of nobber!!

TinyDancingHoofer · 28/09/2014 22:48

I am loving the sympathy for DLL here Grin

Cirsium · 28/09/2014 22:50

YANBU they are horrible. It's the way their legs break off so easily that I hate. I'm a cleaner and had to mop up a dead one with kitchen towel at work this week. It broke into several pieces and I thought I was going to throw up.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 28/09/2014 22:50

Are daddy long legs and crane flies the same thing?

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 28/09/2014 22:50

I feel so sorry for them, living such a short time to breed and die. I always catch them and set them free. My boy can't leave one without rescuing it now and setting it free outside at age 5. Sweet

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 28/09/2014 22:51

Yes armani

BlackeyedSusan · 28/09/2014 22:51

I hoover wasps out of the air when they are buzzing round the light on the landing. maybe that would work for daddy longlegs.

OraProNobis · 28/09/2014 22:53

Yes - they are aka crane flies. I don't want to hurt them. I don't kill them. I never use fly spray on anything. I just want them to piss off! Luckily they're so one dimensional that a light in another room will have them jangling and clattering off for a flap fest elsewhere. Stupid buggers.

OP posts:
ElephantsNeverForgive · 28/09/2014 22:54

Someone is spinning very fine webs all over my house. I wish they'd bugger off into the garden and do it!

OraProNobis · 28/09/2014 22:55

If I did that susan then I swear I'd hear them flap-arsing about inside the Hoover. And then I'd have to go doo-lally-tap. Grin

CallMeExhausted · 28/09/2014 22:58

I was so confused about all this talk of flying daddy long legs and wings... where I live, THIS is a DLL

Freaky spider thing whose legs keep twitching even after they are no longer attached to its body... just WRONG!

StillaChocoholic · 28/09/2014 22:58

I'm the Daddy Long Legs remover in this house. DH hates them but they don't really bother me unless they are in the room when I'm trying to sleep.
I do find it quite funny that he'll easily remove spiders for me but runs away from Daddy Long Legs.

OraProNobis · 28/09/2014 22:59

WTAF!! Where do you live? Just so I know to think very carefully before visiting!

OP posts:
OraProNobis · 28/09/2014 23:00

That's me too still. It's the noise I think. And the flapping.
