Aftertaste of ammonia in the nostrils, hefty lingering tastes in the mouth. Anyone else like cheese the stronger the better?

Yes, me. I like it when you can smell it as soon as you open the front door, and it's so ripe it's almost crawling off the plate. I often keep it for a month after it's best before date.,.

UncleT · 13/09/2014 23:51

I've had this one a month already. It's getting pungent.

yabu, cheese, of any description, is fucking vile.

UncleT · 13/09/2014 23:56

No. Pizza is great. Cheese sandwiches are great (toasted and otherwise). Cheese on baked potatoes is superb. Eating stinky cheese on its own is the best.

YABU. I hate mouldy blue cheese and the like. It's off, it stinks, chuck it away.

ExitPursuedByAKoalaBear · 13/09/2014 23:57

Oh yes.

alleypalley · 14/09/2014 00:04

I love the stinkiest of stinky cheeses and will pay good money for one that I will appreciate and will last a while. But YANBU, I realise this is an aquired taste and doesn't fit every one.

ModreB · 14/09/2014 00:10

Stinking Bishop and I are good friends. Not so much with DH and the DS's. Grin

Bulbasaur · 14/09/2014 00:12

Imagine how your breath smells after eating it.

PetulaGordino · 14/09/2014 00:13

Yum the mouldier and stinkier the better

PetulaGordino · 14/09/2014 00:14

People eat stuff that makes their breath smell all the time. Garlic, pesto, chicken tikka. Strong flavours can be worth it if delicious

BertieBotts · 14/09/2014 00:15

What does it taste of? I always imagine it to taste like rotten fish and I can't eat cheese anyway so have never had cause to try it. But seriously. It smells like when you walk past a communal bin area in the summer. It can't taste good??

LegArmpits · 14/09/2014 00:16

OOOOH OP. Pass it here like innit.

BertieBotts · 14/09/2014 00:16

Pizza, cheese on toast smells lovely. The dairy section in a German supermarket on the French border? Smells like Athete's Foot.

TinyDancingHoofer · 14/09/2014 00:43

Yanbu

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 14/09/2014 01:14

Ulceby Knuckleduster. Like a cowshed on a warm day.

Andrewofgg · 14/09/2014 04:44

You are making me hungry. Of course YANBU and if the family don't like it all the more for you!

TattyDevine · 14/09/2014 08:57

Stinking Bishop is GREAT. DH makes me store it in an old camping fridge in the garage. It fucking HUMS.

In terms of cheddar for everyday snacking, try Black Bomber, its very full bodied.

A few crumbs of stilton for breakfast - breakfast of champions!

Probably does make your gob reek, but you can always clean your teeth.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 14/09/2014 09:00

I only eat Mild Cheddar, Mozzarella and Halloumi. Any other cheese is just plain wrong.

WitchWay · 14/09/2014 09:19

Tali they're not cheeses, more like lumps of solidified milk! Grin

I don't like very strong cheese but it has to have a good flavour

Beaufort, Manchego, Old Amsterdam, Tomme de Savoie mmmm

'Lumps of solidified milk' ha ha.
Love cheese. All of it.

Gileswithachainsaw · 14/09/2014 09:28

Yabu. Who the hell wants to eat something that's so revolting no one wants to come near you.

It must taste like last weeks dirty pants that you haven't washed yet

BertieBotts · 14/09/2014 09:45

I'm really curious! What does it taste like? Everyone saying how amazing it is but nobody wants to describe? Grin

dawndonnaagain · 14/09/2014 10:11

I love cheese, good strong flavoursome cheese. Ds1 (29) and I went shopping together the other day, (he was staying with us for the night) we come home with nine different cheeses, including a couple we'd not had. Friday night was great, sat in front of Dexter eating cheese. Mmmm!
