To ask are Marlboro Gold nicer than Silk Cut Silvers?

First up, I know smoking is bad for you. I don't smoke often. I have bought three packs of ten, and smoked three pouches of roll up tobacco this year. It is on nights out or very occassionally with a cup of coffee at the weekend. I really enjoy it, but feel no need to do it everyday.

It's about time for me to buy another pack of ten, and I wondered if I should try Marlboro lights (now marketed as gold, I think) instead of Silk Cut silvers? The silvers do feel a bit like smoking air if I have one after a roll up, but overall are fine.

Curious about Marlboro lights though!

Also, are Marlboro lights seen as chic and Silk Cut seen as unsophisticated? Or have I made that up?

I agree with worra, your impotent rage about smokers, while entertaining, is more pointless. Get some real problems.

No I don't smoke. But smokers really do not need to be told fags are full of chemicals and are harmful. You'd have to live in a particularly remote part of Outer Mongolia not to know that.

We are all adults and can make our own choices about our lives and our bodies.

I don't smoke either (gave up years ago) but that rant was about has helpful as screaming at fat people, to eat less and exercise more.

Or bawling at drink dependant people to stop boozing.

I don't think my few 'treat' cigarettes do me any more harm than the times I indulge in a few measures of whiskey, frankly.

And Bridgetsmum - smokers enjoy it, that's why they do it, or can you not grasp we all like different things!

Camel Blue are nicer than either of those.

What are Marlboro Silver?

I found B&H silver very similar to Marlborough lights, but a bit cheaper. Smoked Marlborough for years till they became more expensive than anything else! L&B now, although like every week I'm quitting tomorrow....

Marlboro Lights are a good bit stronger than Silk Cut Silver - mid strength I'd say whereas SCS are very light.

Can you still buy 10s elsewehere??? They got rid of them here years ago, annoying when you're skint.

When I smoked I went through a phase of Marlboro but had to stop due to a permanent sore throat.

In the end I preferred roll-ups. Camel lights (can't remember the actual name) were tasty too but roll-ups are the best for flavour. I especially liked the black cherry ones.

Smoking, they're a light version, and have more taste than the SKS/MG. Still pretty smooth though, whereas Marlboro (any variety) make my throat go a bit tickly.
