next to the fruit & veg stall in our local market

We were both stood there, looking at the apples so right up against the fruit. He turned his head, phlemed up and spat it out, then turned back and carried on.

I said "I'm sorry but that is just disgusting, at least use a tissue and move away from the food if you are going to be so vile."

His wife shot me daggers and made comments to him about me being a rude bitch. Now ok the gentleman was older, probably about 60 and may have been ill (I'm trying to find a reason why he may have felt this was acceptable) but REALLY? Even if you have a condition/cold virus/bronchitis or whatever, you carry a tissue and dont spit on the street next to food? WIBU? They were totally unapologetic.

It was the nonchalant way he turned back and just carried on looking at the fruit that upset me. If I'd got there 5 minutes later I could have been buying something with his spittle on it!

I thought spitting was banned somehow? If seen fined, altough never happens? Spreads Tb? or is that old.

At the doctors once, a man in the waiting room lifted his shirt, scooped something out of his belly button and flicked whatever it was in to the middle of the room. I told him off, and good on you as well for telling off this horrifically mannered scum bag!

I told a young boy off in the park today for spitting at another child he was arguing with. At least he had the decency to look contrite when pulled up on it!

He deserved someone to throw up all over him for being so revolting. It is nauseating behaviour after all, so he should take the consequences.

My DS's old infants head teacher saw a parent spitting in the playground. She marched into the toilets, grabbed a paper towel and ordered him loudly to clean it up!

Public spitting should be banned and fined, not only it is a disgusting habit, but it carries the risk of disease and infection. Good on you for shaming tge disgusting spitter.
