Has it been zapped or are my searching skills rubbish?

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 20/06/2014 13:30

It was zapped... poster had previous form.

PrimalLass · 20/06/2014 13:47

Ah, I see. Thank you.

OP posts:
VodkaJelly · 20/06/2014 14:07

For the first time ever on mumsnet i have read a thread and thought "bullshit"!

Hoppinggreen · 20/06/2014 14:41

I honestly do not understand how anyone has the time or energy to make this shit up.
What do they get out of it? Baffles me

Notagainmun · 20/06/2014 16:31

Oh no. Seems I am easily taken in. Can't understand why anyone would want to make up lies and post them for fun.

londonrach · 20/06/2014 16:35

Disappointed I fell for it. Sad

PrincessBabyCat · 20/06/2014 16:41

I wonder if this was the same GP party anorexia girl?

sillystring · 20/06/2014 16:43

It was so OTT I was pretty sure it had to be a wind up. I don't think the OP took on board how many people would twig right away that building insurance just doesn't work like that.

HappyAgainOneDay · 20/06/2014 16:43

Ooh. Which thread was this, Please?

CoffeeTea103 · 20/06/2014 16:45

Omg I fell for that one Shock

BiddyPop · 20/06/2014 16:50

I am so innocent Blush

Twolumpsorone · 20/06/2014 16:51

I fell for it too.

napoleonsnose · 20/06/2014 16:52

Oooh, what was the upshot of the buildings insurance? I'd got as far as people speculating that they didn't have any insurance, but the OP hadn't come back to the thread at that point. Please someone tell me!

camembertlover · 20/06/2014 16:57

I fell for it - who on earth has the time and energy to go to the hassle of making this shit up?! I really dont understand it Shock

BernardlookImaprostituterobotf · 20/06/2014 18:02

Oh, I was waiting to see what amazing drama the no insurance would create. It was leading up to being a doozy.
Gertie made me lol with her 'yes, Bernard. Bullshit' comment.

Tbh it made a nice change from the spate of wind up merchants doing the benefits/poor kids/party/parking routine. At least it wasn't a bash the x section of society thread.

I never liked the Sharon threads but at least they were a craft in their own right.
In the good old days we had a better class of troll. Now you can barely see the line between a troll and a genuine but unpleasant poster, there's a fair few knocking around who do nothing but goad for effect but you can't call a cunt a cunt anymore.a

whois · 20/06/2014 18:14

Oh I actually got taken in by that one! Boo.

KnackeredMuchly · 20/06/2014 18:19

Can someone give me a run down of what went on? Sounds fun!

Minesril · 20/06/2014 18:19

Ah man I feel emotionally manipulated! Was thinking about that poor kitty and poor beagle being chased around by German shepherds while I was in the shower this morning.

Great story though.

NoodleOodle · 20/06/2014 18:28

The GP anorexia one was untrue? Oh...

CoffeeTea103 · 20/06/2014 18:31

Was the party uninvite one zapped too?

Toooldtobearsed · 20/06/2014 18:43

Bugger. I thought that one was so ridiculous it had to be true!

The imagination is brilliant. I could manage the bones of it, but adding in the dogs/cats and other sundries was inspired.

These threads should not be zapped, they should be sent to the naughty corner section to be appreciated at length Grin

WanderingAway · 20/06/2014 18:47

The PIL/house fire one was such a lonnnnnnnggggg first post. You wonder who has the time to write that and come up with a story like that.

WanderingAway · 20/06/2014 18:48

I like the naughty corner idea Grin

ppplease · 20/06/2014 18:51

I like the naughty corner idea too, but it would just give them more attention and more reasons to flood the board with rubbish.

Optimist1 · 20/06/2014 18:54

Gullible as ever - I thought it was genuine and posted my two penn'orth. Blush
