I don't even like football but I enjoy the world cup. I really like watching the other countries play but I am sat here with a knot in my stomach and I don't even care!! There seems to be a pessimism surrounding the team this year

I'm the same Grin

I'm not so informed that I can comment on any pessimism surrounding the team though, are you sure you don't like football? Grin

Idontseeanyicegiants · 14/06/2014 23:08

After the last few World Cups nobody is expecting anything are they?
I've spent the week not being bothered and now I'm glued to the TV !
DS has the option of watching it or not (big, huge football fan), he's convinced they'll lose and is watching Star Trek in his room Grin

picnicbasketcase · 14/06/2014 23:08

YANBU, I feel really jumpy Smile

IWillYeah · 14/06/2014 23:09

Its not as much fun when you are invested. I have seen them live many times and its always a tense experience.

I really enjoyed Spain v Netherlands last night, but feel sick already watching England.

LEMmingaround · 14/06/2014 23:10

No really - just heard a few things on the news. I actually feel sick Confused

I'm fucking expecting them to win, hopefully on penalties as I've got a fiver at 100/1 on it Grin

Scousadelic · 14/06/2014 23:11

I can't watch football at all, I just find it all too stressful, even the sound of it makes me wound up!

VampyreofTimeandMemory · 14/06/2014 23:12

it's probably because England losing puts everyone in a shit mood, though you'd think they'd be used to it by now.

Itsfab · 14/06/2014 23:13

I stop breathing at times Hmm. I can't enjoy it really but this Storridge guy is really really good.

Youdontneedacriminallawyer · 14/06/2014 23:13

I'm Welsh, and therefore don't give a shit. Its a nice place to be!

AgentZigzag · 14/06/2014 23:14

Pac-man does the same to me Scousa.

picnicbasketcase · 14/06/2014 23:15

I've switched over from watching the Holiday, but I might turn it back over due to the tension.

LEMmingaround · 14/06/2014 23:17

My dp is asleep ffs how can he sleep? ?

CheeryName · 14/06/2014 23:17

I have to sort of half watch. Browse MN and look up at TV in the noisy bits. I get too tense otherwise. I would like Robben and Van Persie to discover English roots and switch to our team please.

fatedtopretend · 14/06/2014 23:19

I'm sat on my own in knots, close to actual vomit time! I barely even understand the game Smile

LEMmingaround · 14/06/2014 23:23

I don't get it either but every world cup I have to explain the offside rule to dp

I opted to reminisce over my youth watching TOTP 80s special - with oohs and arrghs wafting up from the boys (DH & DS) downstairs. Sadly I fear England are doomed

ballsballsballs · 14/06/2014 23:26

:)

Apparently we've got more young players this year (am fairweather fan, so NFI). So am optimistic... ish.

LEMmingaround · 14/06/2014 23:30

Am chatting to my friend on Facebook it would help but she is Italian!

Shock

Being one down will just perk up our players though Wink

AgentZigzag · 14/06/2014 23:37

Hahaha, what did I say? Grin

LEMmingaround · 14/06/2014 23:38

How did the physio get hurt???

OP posts:
ballsballsballs · 14/06/2014 23:40

So does the game go into injury time if the team physio is injured?

CheeryName · 14/06/2014 23:40

I've never seen a physio stretchered off!
