He keeps doing this annoying berp without a sound coming out of mouth but you can hear gases if that makes sense.
Blows his nose and then puts tissue in the bin next to me to fester for the rest of the day.
Keeps hitting his teath with metal cutlery.
Sucks his fingers when eating quite loudyly, and he eats a lot.
Rests his hand on the top of my chair sometimes when stood up talking to someone.
Keeps pushing his stuff over my side of the desk.
Is unable to take a sip of anything without making alot of noise.
Opens a can of fanta and I can feel the spray mist on my skin.
Eats smelly food, like fish and chips so can still smell it for hours.

Asked me as a veggie if I miss bacon and don't I get bored of eating the same things. Even though I have a very varied diet and he doesn't!

Or am I just going loopy and not designed for offices?

I think all offices have irritating people. Certainly everywhere I've worked.

He must sit really close to you for the spray of his can of Fanta to reach you. Boak!

ExitPursuedByABear · 09/06/2014 14:04

Noooo. That would drive me mad. How close are your desks?

TurtleyAmazing · 09/06/2014 14:08

I think YABU

the annoying berp you mention cannot be helped. Its just gas. I often get this and can only describe it as an internal burp, strange but theres nothing i can really do.

would you prefer his snotty tissues on the desk? he put them in the bin i dont see the problem.

the smelly foodand cutlery thing would irritate me a little but the rest is just petty.

caruthers · 09/06/2014 14:09

I don't think anyone is designed for offices so you might be right :)

The bloke might be a thoroughly nice person but it sounds like you've got cabin fever.

TurtleyAmazing · 09/06/2014 14:11

Have you tried telling him that you don't want his stuff on your side of the desk? or that you don't like him leaning on your chair?

TheLovelyBoots · 09/06/2014 14:15

I feel for you. I'm repulsed on your behalf.

Uptheanty · 09/06/2014 14:17

I was on the tube yesterday, a beautifully coiffed woman got on. I noticed her immediately because she looked so good.

She then proceeded to pick her nose & eat it.
She continued with many more picks rolls and flicks- a couple of ear digs.... In front of, who I can only assume was her DH/p & son.

It was horrific.

brt100 · 09/06/2014 14:58

I would prefer he put the snotty tissues down the toilet, not in an open bin between our desks.

Yes tried to say please don't lean on chair, he says sorry as if I'm being really strange and then just Carrys on doing it the next day.

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2014 15:07

Not the varied diet again. Does he eat cheese strings and drink milk?

whois · 09/06/2014 15:12

Well that's a really stupid thing to do. Tissues aren't designed to disintegrate in water like toilet paper. Tissues belong in the bin. The germs aren't going to jump up and bite you! Unless you have some strange bin perversion and are shoving your face down deep into the bin taking great big breaths of smelly tissue?

NatashaGurdin · 09/06/2014 15:14

Unless he is using toilet paper to blow his nose, it really wouldn't be a good idea to put the used tissues down the toilet ... Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2014 15:15

Is he sitting at his desk at work eating fish and chips with a knife and fork? What kind of mad office is this?
Do you not have a staff room?

TwinkleTwinkleStarlight · 09/06/2014 15:17

OP you do seem to be a bit obsessed with what people do/don't eat .

OnlyLovers · 09/06/2014 15:19

YANBU, except about the tissues. Putting them in the bin is completely normal.

I'd hate to be sat next to you, OP. Are you huffing, and puffing, sighing and being all passive aggressive?

I'd be annoyed about the chair thing though, tell him to stop it!

TheresLotsOfFarmyardAnimals · 09/06/2014 15:23

We have no dining table or staff room either. You pretty much eat all day then and it's terrible for you. No time away from the sodding computer or desk all day. Lunchtime is pretty irrelevant too, if you're at your desk you get queries and phonecalls too.

brt100 · 09/06/2014 15:31

its loo roll hes using, anyway yes I find a bin full of snotty tissues next to me dirty. Of he did a shit in the bin next to me the germs also wouldn't jump up and get me.

L this isn't about food issues, have a go at me on the relivant threads if thats your thing.

OP posts:
OnlyLovers · 09/06/2014 15:32

I find a bin full of snotty tissues next to me dirty Well, I don't find that very reasonable. And snotty tissues in a bin is not the same as a shit; but you know that really, I'm sure.

But anyway, as I said I don't think you're being U about the rest.

brt100 · 09/06/2014 15:34

Just to add he smells a bit of rotting flesh, could do with a good scrub.

He also keeps sneezing into his hands, doesn't go and wash them or anything and just carries on working. I sometimes have to help him out and use his keyboard.

Fair enough, maybe its how I was brought up. I always wash all my dirty clothes and the bed sheets the moment a cold comes on to prevent reinfection.

brt100 · 09/06/2014 15:37

Yes I have issues with loud eaters, especially ones that chew with their mouth open and hit cutlery against their teeth. Should I go see my go about this?

I've been on MN for a while now. And I'm starting to recognise certain posters. And Brt. You need to RELAX lady!
I hate eating noises as much as the next person but EVERYTHING seems to annoy you. Please try to calm down a bit.
You're only going to get grief every time you post on here otherwise & I can't see the point of that. Do you like people telling you off all the time?
