Still alive but bleeding. Police happens to drive by but seem a bit clueless. What should we do?

ring a vet

CortanaFights · 18/05/2014 20:45

IME vets wont refuse emergency treatment.

LaranotKlara · 18/05/2014 20:45

Yes vets have an emergency vet on call 24/7. Google one close to you

Bluestocking · 18/05/2014 20:47

Our vets go straight to an answerphone after hours, but part of the message is the 24-hour emergency number. Listen to the whole message.

phantomnamechanger · 18/05/2014 20:48

if you cant get a vet, ring the rspca

google 'emergency vet' and your postcode

hellymelly · 18/05/2014 20:48

Most vets have emergency surgeries, call round, and drive cat straight there. Gosh i hope it is ok. This happened to us (it was our neighbour's cat) and the cat died in about five minutes. It was truly horrible, I hope this cat makes it, i have everything crossed.

LaranotKlara · 18/05/2014 20:51

Ok, the police got hold of emergency vet. Thank you. So sad ):

Bless you for caring and getting it sorted Laranot. Thanks

If that were my pet I'd be so glad there are people like you around.

hellymelly · 18/05/2014 20:55

Really hope the cat is ok. Will the police let you know?

Objection · 18/05/2014 20:56

Find your closest vet on Google, pick up the cat with an old towel very very carefully and get to the vet asap.
Sad Sad Sad

LaranotKlara · 18/05/2014 20:59

Poor little pet, our neighbours are taking it to the vet. Hope it'll make it. Sad

If it is still alive now, that is a good sign. Please keep us posted. Poor thing.

ChronicChronicles · 18/05/2014 21:05

Thank you so much for trying. So many would have just ignored it, and if anything like that happened to one of mine I'd be so grateful someone was caring and got some help.

TequilaMockingbirdy · 18/05/2014 21:15

Oh god the poor thing :(

I once resuscitated a cat. I know it sounds horrible but I did. And it bloody worked too.

I was walking home and heard a woman scream, looked across the road and a woman was sat at her gate really really upset pointing into the road. Someone had overtaken another car and hit her cat :( she couldn't do anything because she was in a wheelchair. I ran over and picked it up, not breathing at all. Tried to tell her it was gone but she just got more and more distressed so took it in and did what I'd seen in a video once!

SourSweets · 18/05/2014 21:32

You're not in Herts are you Lara? My cat isn't home yet..

LaranotKlara · 18/05/2014 22:03

Shockers · 18/05/2014 22:05

How is the cat?

LaranotKlara · 18/05/2014 22:07

I don't know. The police took it to the vets. Our neighbours gave their contact details so will fight more tomorrow, hopefully good news.

You did a really kind thing. I'm sure that kitty's owner will be very appreciative.

SourSweets · 18/05/2014 22:25

He's home! Thank god, I actually had a heart palpitation when I read that.

I really hope the cat is ok. Poor thing.
