Still alive but bleeding. Police happens to drive by but seem a bit clueless. What should we do?

Tequilla, it was amazing of you do it - to forget about your own 'comfort' so to speak as most people would be sqeamish. must have felt so good when it started breathing!

Did you hear how the cat fared OP?

Charlieboo30 · 20/05/2014 17:02

This once happened to me. Driving home from work, fairly busy road and a cat in the middle of the two roads. Clearly still alive but in a bad way. I'm an animal lover, started crying but there was no way I could have stopped and helped it so drove to my aunties (10 mins drive away).

Phoned the RSPCA and I was honestly disgusted with their attitude. They practically accused me of running over it, which I hadn't. They then questioned why I wouldn't have stopped. To top it all off, they sent somebody from their branch over an hour away so there really was no point in me ringing as it would either have died in agony or being run over by the time they got there. Nobody ever told us what happened either.

I'm a real animal lover but I'd never contact the RSPCA again.

Charlieboo30 I've had a similar unfortunate experience with the RSPCA, and would never call them now, especially as we have a very good rescue near us.
We had a neighbour who abused his cats, would set off fireworks at them etc., never fed them, they used to practically live at ours - RSPCA said unless one died basically they couldn't do anything!
