To wonder where all the bobbles go?

Every couple of months i buy a 20(or so- not sure) pack of hair bobbles. There is only me that wears them and i only tie my hair up at home, not if i'm going out of the house. So where do they all go? Is the dog creating a giant hair bobble ball for the Guinness book of records? Confused

Mine always get swallowed by the sofa. Grin

trumpfamily · 19/04/2014 18:25

They'll be down the back of the sofa.

Beanymonster · 19/04/2014 18:26

Do you have a dc? Mine end up in the bottom of the toy box or under the seat of the ride on...

Pipbin · 19/04/2014 18:26

I think they go to the same place as mine.

gamerwidow · 19/04/2014 18:27

playing with hair bobbles is my cats most beloved game. as a result all mine are under furniture Grin

2 boys. They have no interest in bobbles, they're nail varnish and make-up boys Hmm

Ive checked the sofa, even put tights on the end of the hoover and hoovered down the back and sides. Looked under and down the back of my bed, under dressing table, in bathroom cupboard, on the mantelpiece. Nothing.

I take them off either in my room or in the bathroom but when i go back for them weeks later they're gone.

Same place as all the baby spoons. Or the red pens, if you are a teacher. It's a monster who rates them. Uh huh. ~nods~

Cat! It'll be the cat. Not under the sofas though. I wonder where he takes them.

My friend's cat steals the rings from the top of the milk carton and collects them under the sofa.

I consider hair bobbles and slides sacrificial items. I never plan on keeping them!

Saying that, I have one slide which has been with me for 12 years now which must be a record!

GeordieMama · 19/04/2014 18:37

Same place as the odd socks! Total mystery. I hate to think how much I've spent on hair bobbles over the years.

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 19/04/2014 18:43

Yes the socks too!

I will consider bobbles a consumable item from now on.

OP posts:
YoureBeingASillyBilly · 19/04/2014 18:44

Is consumable the right word? I dont mean i eat them. Confused maybe the cat does though?

SummerRain · 19/04/2014 18:45

I caught the washing machine eating one once so I'm sure all mine are nicely tangled in its inner workings somewhere.

Bodicea · 19/04/2014 18:46

I am so the same. I do find a lot in my car but even that can't account for all of them. I probably get a new pack every three months - need some new ones now thinking about it!

ItsSpringBaby · 19/04/2014 18:47

The unexplained disappearance of baby spoons, forks, hairbands, hairpins, biro pens, toilet roll within 24 hours...etc. These are the mysteries I will never solve.

kukeslala · 19/04/2014 18:50

If she wears them in bed, check down the end of the bed too.

ommmward · 19/04/2014 18:55

HA! They end up strewn across all the pavements in the neighbourhood I walk through from where I live to where I work. I see 2 or 3 every day. I think people drop them without noticing (maybe they are so rich that they wouldn't consider bending down to pick up their dropped hair bobble? It is a well off neighbourhood that I'm walking through). When my supplies get a bit low, I pick a few up, pop them in my pocket, give them a quick wash when next near soap and water, and then wear them. Haven't bought hair bobbles for years .

NeedaDiscoNap · 19/04/2014 19:05

I had the same question... Then found a big hoard hidden under my cat's blanket in her basket. DH had seen her trotting around the house with them in her mouth and apparently thought it was hilarious. Must have been about 12 in there!

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 19/04/2014 19:06

Bobbles on the pavement! I have seen the odd one here or there but never 2-3 a day!

You need a bobble plate Wink

Just be careful where you leave it!

hugoagogo · 19/04/2014 19:30

I hear the toilet cistern is not a good place.

ommmward · 19/04/2014 19:33

yes really two or three a day. Glorious combination of several private girls' schools and a somewhat rah university :-D

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 19/04/2014 19:35

Toilet cistern? You mean on top of it? Because bobbles fall in? Confused

ommmward that has reminded me of the hill i had to walk up to my school. All girls' school. Hill was covered in bobbles and chewing gum.

I know where my hair bobbles are, because I only get one out at a time, use it everyday till it breaks, then get a new one out. I keep my hair tied up almost all the time, the only time I take it out is to wash it then once it's dry, or the next morning, I retrieve my bobble from its place in the bathroom and put it back in.

DD's bobbles on the other hand, I bought her a brand new 20 pack, in 3 colours, with 8 slides (4 different designs, 2 of each). She's only 18 months old, so I tried putting her hair in pigtails for the first time the other day. Could I find a matching pair of bobbles and slides? I did eventually, only to find that her comb has completely vanished (presumably that's in the same place as the brush that's been missing now for months). I think she hides them because she hates having her hair done!
