You are mocking a classic, one of my favourites!

Shame on you Wink

squoosh · 18/04/2014 23:59

I used to think it was actual Knights

Wtf did they sit in?
squoosh · 19/04/2014 00:00

But of course they were singing about these slippy slidey sheets. I prefer the Knights.

BuggarMeGently · 19/04/2014 00:03

KNIGHTS in white satin= Sir Cliff in a silky nighty...gross!!!

OP posts:
MoonlightandRoses · 19/04/2014 00:04

Just realised about the missing "K", so not entirely what was intended from the lyrics - oops Blush Blush Blush

squoosh · 19/04/2014 00:05

I think this is what Sir Cliff wears to do his sexing.

Wtf did they sit in?
AgentZigzag · 19/04/2014 00:09

That's disturbing sqoosh

Do you think he's ever waxed his chest?

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 19/04/2014 00:14

Wow. Just wow. I always thought it was knights. That's a revelation. Must listen to lyrics next time.

Milmingebag · 19/04/2014 00:17

If it's any comfort it is only this week that I found out what 'great balls of fire' song was about.

It's kind of ruined it now for me.....

JToTheCToTheCrisTotheT · 19/04/2014 00:20

JToTheCToTheCrisTotheT · 19/04/2014 00:22

And...erm...wtaf is Great Bslls Of Fire really about? All I know is it's one of my fave things to play on piano ..beats a punchbag any day!

AgentZigzag · 19/04/2014 00:23

Is it about flaming nackers or something then Milminge? Grin

I've just looked on wiki and it says 'The song title is derived from a Southern expression, which some Christians consider blasphemous, that refers to the Pentecost's defining moment when the Holy Spirit manifested as "cloven tongues as of fire" and the Apostles spoke in tongues.'

I've never wondered before but I need to know now Grin

RabbitPies · 19/04/2014 00:23

It is not Knights. It's Nights!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 19/04/2014 00:27

Ignore me, I meant nights.

I'm a tit .

JToTheCToTheCrisTotheT · 19/04/2014 00:28

Agent gonna ask my mom bout the "blastpheme" thing...she knows the bible dead well Grin. Interesting!

AgentZigzag · 19/04/2014 00:32

I always thought (and DH did too, just for the numbers) it was knights in white satin.

Well I never.

Milmingebag · 19/04/2014 00:33

I was assured this was indeed a reference to overfilled nads/sexual frustration.

squoosh · 19/04/2014 00:34

I prefer Knight is White Satin. So pristine, so heroic.

Nights in White Satin? Static.

AgentZigzag · 19/04/2014 00:34

I thought it was from the 70s as well, but it was 1967. I can remember it being on top of the pops though but I was born in 71 Confused
