"About to see the Mother In Law who I haven't seen for 2 years. Alert! Alert! Help! Road to hell!"

OP posts:
WooWooOwl · 13/04/2014 19:30

Neither, it's just a bit shit in that it sounds like it's trying to be funny and failing.

mangomodellingclay · 13/04/2014 19:34

Don't say anything on facebook that you wouldn't stand in a football stadium with a megaphone and shout. So I think it's unreasonable - those types comments are best texted to close friends.

Deftones · 13/04/2014 19:35

Depends who you are in relation to the statement...would be shit if you're the MILWink Wink

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen · 13/04/2014 19:46

Appropriate for a text.

Appropriate on an anonymous forum, like this one.

Not appropriate on a social media site, unless the audience is a very small number of people, for example post is visible to only half a dozen people.

TheReluctantCountess · 13/04/2014 19:48

Sounds fine to me. I would use it, except I haven't seen my (step)MiL for about four years. Four glorious years.

SnagglePuss37 · 13/04/2014 19:50

Unreasonable: potentially hurtful on Facebook where real people know families and extended families. Out of order in my book

Topaz25 · 13/04/2014 19:58

Not appropriate for Facebook if she has the in-laws or anyone who knows them on her friends list. People who share their drama on Facebook shouldn't be surprised when they end up with more.

junkfoodaddict · 13/04/2014 20:18

Not really for us to say whether appropriate or not - depends on the audience on FB; as someone said, the audience could be small and people who have no relation to the MIL. It would be no different to texting someone or a group of the same people who are on FB. The only difference is, it's a message with a photo attached to it.

RedRoom · 13/04/2014 20:22

Inappropriate if more than a handful if people can see it. Potential for hurt and embarrassment. Not sure why anyone would post something like that tbh- you'd say it privately, surely?

Bitchplease · 13/04/2014 20:47

You were being unreasonable.

HolidayCriminal · 13/04/2014 21:05

risky; I don't want to play R or U, just risky.

Pagwatch · 13/04/2014 21:07

Unreasonable

Unfunny in a Colin Stunt way. So zero upside.

sunshinysummer · 13/04/2014 21:19

Not very kind, no.

Brabra · 13/04/2014 21:20

Are you the MIL wombles? I think it is horrible

WhereYouLeftIt · 13/04/2014 21:23

Since the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, I'd wonder about the back-story to the post.

Unreasonable to put up as a FB post though, as it invites questions from FBfriends unfamiliar with the back-story.

WestieMamma · 13/04/2014 21:30

Is this something you've written Wombles? If so, given the issues you are having with your DH and ILS I think it's really out of line and only going to make things worse for you.

Not very nice. Inappropriate for Facebook, too public. Too high a risk of being very hurtful if it gets back to MIL,

ladymariner · 14/04/2014 00:25

Don't understand why anyone would want to put hurtful rubbish like this where everyone can see it.....far from everyone thinking how funny the poster is, they will just be thinking how pathetic they sound. Either say it to someone's face or keep quiet, nobody likes a keyboard warrior....

JazzAnnNonMouse · 14/04/2014 07:22

Unreasonable immature idiotic

CaptWingoBings · 14/04/2014 07:28

Unreasonable.

winkywinkola · 14/04/2014 08:44

Stupid. Not unreasonable.

winkywinkola · 14/04/2014 08:44

As in the person shouldn't have done it.

Legologgo · 14/04/2014 08:45

Who really cares?

Fairylea · 14/04/2014 08:48

Totally depends who you have on your Facebook to be honest... If you wrote it I mean.
