Neither, it's just a bit shit in that it sounds like it's trying to be funny and failing.

Don't say anything on facebook that you wouldn't stand in a football stadium with a megaphone and shout. So I think it's unreasonable - those types comments are best texted to close friends.

Not appropriate on a social media site, unless the audience is a very small number of people, for example post is visible to only half a dozen people.

Sounds fine to me. I would use it, except I haven't seen my (step)MiL for about four years. Four glorious years.

Not appropriate for Facebook if she has the in-laws or anyone who knows them on her friends list. People who share their drama on Facebook shouldn't be surprised when they end up with more.

Not really for us to say whether appropriate or not - depends on the audience on FB; as someone said, the audience could be small and people who have no relation to the MIL. It would be no different to texting someone or a group of the same people who are on FB. The only difference is, it's a message with a photo attached to it.

Inappropriate if more than a handful if people can see it. Potential for hurt and embarrassment. Not sure why anyone would post something like that tbh- you'd say it privately, surely?

Unreasonable to put up as a FB post though, as it invites questions from FBfriends unfamiliar with the back-story.

Is this something you've written Wombles? If so, given the issues you are having with your DH and ILS I think it's really out of line and only going to make things worse for you.
