Top two stories on Talk Roundup this week are:

  1. husband using tampons to apply cream to internal piles
  2. will the nurse/midwife be scared of my hairy muff

If I was interested in schoolboy humour I would subscribe to Viz, thanks hq.

I DO follow Viz on Facebook (which I love and share with gay abandon) and still find some of the stuff here a little toe-curling!

So YANBU

Itsfab · 13/04/2014 16:09

The round-up can only be written with what is posted on here but I suspect people want the funny stuff rather than the serious stuff

Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2014 16:09

I thought the same Mintyy, this week's wasn't a great pick of threads was it? I am sure there were others less Hmm to choose from.

Mintyy · 13/04/2014 16:11

Yes, I guess we can't all agree on what constitutes funny. Or, at least, my soh is way out of kilter with what the powers that be at hq think showscases what Mumsnet has to offer.

The hairy muff thread was actually pretty sensible with some excellent posts that dispelled the fear that some people have of being ridiculed if they're not "perfectly" groomed for an intimate examination.

CuntyBunty · 13/04/2014 16:15

How can it embarrass you? It's not something directly attributed you you as an individual, so unless you a the MN spokeswoman, I'm a bit perplexed. If it doesn't interest me, I move onto a different thread, or even go and do something in RL.

RandallFloyd · 13/04/2014 16:16

Is that really what was in it?
Blimey, I don't know what to say.

CuntyBunty · 13/04/2014 16:16

"are" not "a".

Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2014 16:16

I think I am at overload point with the threads about pubic hair, never have I known such a fascination with it as on MN. Thread after thread. I find it really bizarre.

RandallFloyd · 13/04/2014 16:19

Definitely! I have never know a group of people so interested in each other pubes.

Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2014 16:19

Honestly before MN I never gave it a second thought.

Mintyy · 13/04/2014 16:20

Cunty, makes me cringe, is more accurate.

Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2014 16:21

Plus it's in your inbox Mintyy.

Pipbin · 13/04/2014 16:22

I didn't know there was such a thing as talk roundup.

Mintyy · 13/04/2014 16:22

Yes it does arrive in my inbox, so that's different, I agree.

OP posts:
CuntyBunty · 13/04/2014 16:22

I know what you mean Sparkling, it's just pubes, calm down dear and all that. It does allow people to access help that they never would ask for in RL (sometimes).
Excess pubes v loads of recent censoriousness. I don't know; I'm torn.

Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2014 16:28

Mmm. I just hide any mention of pubes now. It's all been said I think.

Amytheflag · 13/04/2014 16:30

Yanbu but it's better than the times where an obviously fake one makes it through and everyone is CRYING laughing with the obvious troll. Those are embarrassing.

CuntyBunty · 13/04/2014 16:32

It has, Sparkling for us, but maybe not for some, IYSWIM? I kind of feel sorry for people getting slapped down on here for asking questions sometimes.

RandallFloyd · 13/04/2014 16:35

I'm all for free speech and all that. If you want to talk about your pubes then crack on, no one's stopping you.

I also have a fairly childish sense of humour at times. There are many quips about having someone else's pubes in my inbox going round in my head right now.

But it's the idea that these two threads are the 'highlight' of the week that's just a bit sad. I mean really? Were hairy fannies and arse grapes really the funniest/most insightful threads of the last 7 days?

FourForksAche · 13/04/2014 17:50

I found the tampon tip extremely useful Wink

it's been a bad week.

Jerboa · 13/04/2014 17:55

I agree. I don't find it funny and I don't really know many people who would, it seems a bit childish almost.

AnyFucker · 13/04/2014 17:58

Could people remember please that someone takes the time to compile the round up.

If you don't like it, unsubscribe and/or don't read it.

Mintyy · 13/04/2014 18:05

Yes Ma'am.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2014 18:05

Yes I know that AF, but it isn't always going to be to everyone's taste every single week is it? Do you know if MNHQ have any sway as to what appears in it?
