to have important questions regarding Frozen?

My main one being - how do they know it is an eternal winter when it seems to have lasted about five minutes?

Also (sorry, very inappropiate) - if Elsa ever gets a boyfriend/girlfriend, and she gets excited, will she turn them into ice?

How does she know how to build the castle if she has spent all that time trying not to use her powers?

What is she planning to eat in her castle?

And did Anna never ask anyone why she was basically locked in her house?

And had none of the servants noticed what appeared to be a regular night time habit of the princesses playing at snow in the ballroom at night, considering Elsa didn't know how to thaw it/make it go away? That has to be a lot of puddles.

This is why I could never write a story, I'd spend the entire time explaining it.

Although I fail to see how the entire hundred of people worked on the film for ages without at least speculating.

How could the king possibly have thought locking her in a room was a good idea? Massive child protection issues if nothin else?

Also which country (of about 5) is it based on?

And how could elsa make clothes with her powers? Were they made of snow? If so how uncomfortable!

Brittapieandchips · 10/04/2014 17:16

Yeah, how did she make her normal dress vanish?

I read somewhere that the king and queen are basically abusive, and are telling Elsa that her own personality is dangerous and not to trust herslef. Which is pretty much it.

My only question about Frozen is why the crap are my DCs watching it again? Third time this weekShockShockShock

Sulis · 10/04/2014 17:28

I think it's meant to be based in Norway (looked it up!).

We wondered about the food in the castle and how fome she doesn't turn her gloves to ice?

Sulis · 10/04/2014 17:30

Britta - I don't think they're abusive. More like misguided? I think it's about why we shouldn't bury big feelings as they'll always burst out in some way or other at some point. Learning how to live with them and use them for good is far better.

owlbegoing · 10/04/2014 17:31

She should have broken out of her hand cuff things. She could have used her power to freeze the metal which would have made then brittle. Then slammed them into the wall. Easy peasy Grin

Sulis · 10/04/2014 17:32

Although Kristoff is obviously lovely and I love the premise of the film and its message, the whole 'love him even if he's a bit shit' song bothers me. Great tune though!

owlbegoing · 10/04/2014 17:32

Oops, cross post with Sulis

Sulis · 10/04/2014 17:32

Owl - isn't that what she did? Confused

Misspixietrix · 10/04/2014 17:36

Of course the Servants knew about the Puddles OP. Rule no 1 of servanting - clean up everything no matter how strange and don't ask any questions. .

owlbegoing · 10/04/2014 17:36

Did she? I must have missed that bit. I have only watched it once in my defence Smile

blibblibs · 10/04/2014 17:37

My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast

This is a couple of lines from Let it go, so she can build the ice castle just by thinking it, rather than supressing it.

The dress is obviously an ice dress - the cold never bothered her anyway Grin

Boyfriend/girlfriend should be ok as she's learnt how to control it by the end of the movie .

We've watched this movie twice at the cinema and everyday since the DVD came out - hopefully DC will be bored of it v v soon Smile

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 10/04/2014 17:39

DD has watched it 12 times since Christmas and sings the songs. Compared to the other films we have been subjected to, though, it is a masterpiece!! I want her to identify with Anna, though, not Elsa. Because she is not bloody blond and she needs to stop seeing it as the only way to be beautiful.
I hadn't even spotted all these inconsistencies! Blush. Just carried away with the magic, I suppose. Grin

Brittapieandchips · 10/04/2014 17:46

Will both sisters be 'Disney princesses', and has there been two from one film before?

I have two sisters and two DDs, a film about sisterly love gets massive emotional thumbs up from me Grin

I read somewhere that, in the first few drafts, Elsa was written as a baddy. I find it very interesting that she has a lot of the mannerisms that are usually given to evil females - that diva ish posing in 'let it go', the fact that her magic is so very strong and she is a queen with no king or male heir.

She reminds me of the fairy godmother in shrek or the witch in tangled, both of whom are evil.

She doesn't get rescued by a man at all, either, and she doesn't show any interest in romance.

Look just let it go guys. Let it go.

Saw this video the other day... Frozen Backlash

normaleggy · 10/04/2014 18:05

I've often wondered why Olaf lighting the fire for her and risking his own life because 'some people are worth melting for' didn't count as an act of true love. The troll never specified that she had to be the one to carry it out, and had Hans loved her then his kiss would have been enough. It clearly didn't need to be romantic love as her sacrifice for Elsa was enough.

Are the holidays over yet?

blibblibs · 10/04/2014 18:12

HerRoyalNotness that is fantastic - just shared it on facebook with DH, although he is as obsessed as the DC Grin

Brittapieandchips · 10/04/2014 18:13

Yeah, I was expecting it to be Olaf, then he would at least have a point other than to annoy everyone.

OP posts:
owlbegoing · 10/04/2014 18:19

Having seen the advert where Olaf is on a frozen pond/lake and he sneezes his nose off then Sven tries to get it before he does I was most disappointed that it wasn't in the film Sad
