A woman on my facebook has just posted a 'selfie' of herself with no makeup with the caption 'I am doin this selfie with no make up on to raise awareness for cancer .. if your tagged in this then u have been nominated to do it'

I posted asking how exactly this is raising awareness for cancer.

Have had loads of inboxes of abuse from random people saying I'm evil and obviously don't give a shit about cancer

Or just get yourself a better class of FB friends. There's no shame in deleting friends who just aren't compatible with what you want to accomplish on there.

My mum anD one of my best friends are battling cancer but I don't pass on the pointless crap like that. I will however 'like' the stuff they post.

It reminds of the, 'if you're against child abuse' or 'if you love you child with all your being' type crap as well. Clearly I must endorse child abuse and not give a shit about my daughter as I don't pass those on either.

I care by donating to McMillan and helping run a support group.

I'm sure those posting twatty things could make a difference by donating a couple of quid if they can afford it. Unfortunately most see this serving crap as them not needing to do anything else because they've already helped

There was one going around with a picture of a seriously ill little boy and 'click like and facebook will donate £1'.

I did a reverse image search, found where they'd nicked the photo from, and posted it underneath and let them know that the little boy had in fact died 3 years ago and anyone who believes facebook will give quids for a like are tools anyway.
