DD1 (13) is having a sleep over (2 friends). We had KFC as a treat. DD2 and I had ours at the table. The girls had them in their room. Yes I am a slummy mummy.
When I went to get the plates and rubbish, they had left loads of the good bits, crispy skin and chicken on the bone.
WIBU to gnaw all the bones clean Grin

I find the thought really gross but maybe I'm just being precious?

WorraLiberty · 22/02/2014 21:21

Just bin them

Jolleigh · 22/02/2014 21:22

I've always been a bit grossed out by leftovers. I know it's completely irrational...it's all food!

phantomnamechanger · 22/02/2014 21:22

ew! fair enough to eat you own DCs leftovers, but not some other kids' - do you know which is which? do you know they have not been flinging them about the room?

overmydeadbody · 22/02/2014 21:24

I'd eat my own family's leftovers, provided I had seen it the whole time and trusted they hadn't dropped it on the floor or anything, but I'm not sure I would eat leftovers from someone not elated to me, especially a child!

WorraLiberty · 22/02/2014 21:25

I've always been a bit grossed out by leftovers. I know it's completely irrational...it's all food!

Yes but it's food that someone else's saliva and hands have been all over.

drnoitall · 22/02/2014 21:26

Agree with phantom.
Ewwwwwww to other dc left over food!

phantomnamechanger · 22/02/2014 21:26

that's not leftovers though! leftovers is if someone has not touched their chicken at all and give it to you or save for next day. not all the scrapings of everyone's leavings.

macdoodle · 22/02/2014 21:26

Grin not bothered, have known them all since they were 3, have taken them all to the loo and wiped bums and faces as littlies. They all come from nice clean homes Wink

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 22/02/2014 21:28

What does their homes have to do with the germs on their hands or in their spit?

If you're still genuinely hungry after eating your own dinner, have some toast or something?

Jolleigh · 22/02/2014 21:28

Think you may have hit the nail on the head there for me Worra...I'm fine if said leftovers didn't reach someone's plate (ie, stayed in the pan or serving dish) but if got to a plate it grosses me out. Must be a spit thing Envy

SilverOldie · 22/02/2014 21:32

YABU it's gross - you may as well see what you can find in the dustbin to go with it. I wouldn't eat fat laden KFC in the first place but even less so when it has been in someone else's mouth. I'm feeling queasy just thinking about it.

Bin it!

WorraLiberty · 22/02/2014 21:33

It's not even the plate thing for me Jolleigh

I'd finish my DC's food if I was still really hungry and it was on a plate.

But chicken is different. It's already been bitten into and that persons hands would have been all over it.

Almost the equivalent of chewed food on a plate Grin

Onesleeptillwembley · 22/02/2014 21:34

No. It's a bit er well grubby. Gnawed on leftovers? Just no.

Jolleigh · 22/02/2014 21:35

I used to suck on sausages as a kid (that's normal, right?) so even intact food on a plate is dubious to me Grin

WorraLiberty · 22/02/2014 21:36

Yes, yes Jolleigh that's totally fucking weird normal Grin

thinking101 · 22/02/2014 21:36

Who knew KFC did magic chickens too Grin

LadyBeagleEyes · 22/02/2014 21:39

Eeeeew. No just no.
And I love KFC.

joven · 22/02/2014 21:42

No go for it, better eating leftovers than binning then and eating different food instead. Contrary to MN opinion you are unlikely to catch an incurable illness from eating other peoples leftovers. Many people on here simply wouldn't have been able to function at any point in history other than the last 30 years.

macdoodle · 22/02/2014 21:44

Grin how did I know you stuck up lot would think this terribly unacceptable - was very yummy and didnt go to waste......

LadyBeagleEyes · 22/02/2014 21:50

I just prefer my KFC without other people's saliva on it.

Janethegirl · 22/02/2014 21:52

Each to their own, I personally wouldn't eat KFC but if it had been the leftovers of ribs from a Chinese takeaway, I may well have sucked the bones.

lilola · 22/02/2014 21:56

It makes me feel a bit gross but then I have eaten my flatmate's leftover Chinese out of the bin. in my defence it was in a sealed takeaway container so I can't really judge

Jolleigh · 22/02/2014 22:15

Out of the bin?!?!

lilola · 22/02/2014 22:26

yeh...I was tipsy and hungry and the takeaways were shut. It was delicious
