To think that "gradual tan" moisturiser...

Should be just that... a nice gradual process?

At present I'm one green hair dye job away from securing a job at Charlie's Chocolate Factory (and that's after one application)

Why do I never learn??

What did you buy?

I've not bought a gradual tanner that has been too deep on first application.

Exfoliate and moisturise to wear off thd layers.

Which product did you use? I find that fake tanners never make me very tanned looking. I splashed out on some Lancombe Flash Bronzer and it is very subtle (too subtle for my pale skin)

I am very pale but I got the dove for fair - normal skin.

I look a bit like a satsuma with blonde hair Hmm

Oh bad luck op!

I thought maybe your thread was going to be that gradual tan moisturiser has the most hideous smell of any substance known to mankind and I was going to agree with you wholeheartedly there.

Sorry OP, but your oompaloompa reference made me snort.

Get a good scrub on it (Sanctuary salt scrub great), and I recommend St Tropez gradual stuff.

I have to say that the Lancombe stuff does smell gorgeous. Not a hint of eau de peanut butter.

Make Believe do a product called Tan Extender. It is meant to just top up an existing tan but has a hint of self tanner in it. It's the best tanner I've found for pale skin as it's a natural colour and doesn't streak. I've tried ST, Dove, Johnson's and Lancôme but Make Believe is my favourite.

A steamy bath with a body scrub of baking soda and lemon juice will get rid of the orange in the meantime!

can you get the Nivea stuff there (i'm not in the uk). they do one for fair skin and it is gradual, smells ok too Grin

Will it go patchy if I exfoliate a lot?

I'm out tomorrow night and wondering if a patch work quilt or an oompa loopa look is more in?

Have you tried primarks cocoa brown?
Tis great stuff, nice natural tan. No smell and washes off without being patchy

I don't tan at all (even if I try) so had a spray-tan before a holiday a few years ago which was waayyy too dark.

I went away looking like Pocahontas and looked like the negative to my friends in every picture because every day they got browner and I got whiter!.

Ach it's ok I would be lying if I said it hadn't been going round my head for a few hours haha.

I actually have green crazy colour in my house. The fake tan must be going to my brain as I'm sorely tempted.

It won't go patchy if you just bathe it off. Soak in the bath and use some basic soap and a flannel and wipe your limbs over once with the flannel. Then scrub palms, elbows, ankles, knees and knuckles with whichever scrub you want but nowhere else. Then pat dry (don't rub). Slather on loads of moisturiser before you go to bed.

Good luck. At least it's tights weather if all else fails!

My mum used to use it and always looked like a wee Oompa Loompa she never learned either but my old child minder used it and looked fab!!

Best stuff I've used is the st moritz although it's not gradual

Oh dear...

Ladies you may flame me now for complete stupidity. It would appear that when stacking the shelves someone has put the wrong tinted moisturiser in the fair to normal section.

I have applied medium to dark Blush

Some shoot me, shoot me now.
