Parking my penguin for further updates. Wink

ExitPursuedTheRoyalPrude · 17/02/2014 12:29

Cheeky feckers.

sashh · 17/02/2014 12:30

I mean Bin Laden/Bin Lady go to the papers

KhloeKardashian · 17/02/2014 12:36

Bin Laden/Bin Lady knows who is in charge she was told loud and clear that BIL's Van and the bollards are in charge now!

Tinklewinkle · 17/02/2014 12:42

Another IOWer here, I didn't realise there were so many on here!

I'd be specifying an exact time she can get her car out, otherwise she'll be knocking at 11pm as it's 'after 5:30pm'

Farrowandbawl · 17/02/2014 12:50

Where do you stand legally if she still hasn't moved her car by 5:30?

Can you have it towed away?

TalkinPeace · 17/02/2014 12:51

just plow round it and put garden ornaments on it ...
its the same as if Bin Laden Lady had parked her car in anybody else's front garden now Wink

VelmaD · 17/02/2014 12:58

I think bin lady thinks mrs d rents or something? Or letting agent can make her do stuff? I dont think she's the brightest tool in the box by any means. She's definitely not the quickest.

Hope she comes at 6pm and takes the car whilst giving an apology. And that her tenancy is not renewed. No need to be such a bitch to people is there? She will learn that.

IthoughtATMwasacashpoint · 17/02/2014 12:58

It might be a good idea to electrify your lovely new fence with the gold spears Smile

emptychair · 17/02/2014 12:59

Brilliant thread. I'd be emailing/calling the LA saying that of course she can collect her car after 5:50pm but it must be collected before 7pm as the bollards will be put back up by then. :)

KayleeFrye · 17/02/2014 13:00

I agree with clutterbugs that you need to specify a 'no later than' and make arrangements for it to be towed away in the morning or she will try it on again.

ChasedByBees · 17/02/2014 13:03

Oh I've only just realised what this thread is!

Settles in, late to the party

PositiveAttitude · 17/02/2014 13:04

Now that this thread has united all of us islanders and drawn us out the woodwork I think we should hop over to the local pages and have a virtual meet up on there.

When news is quiet here this would certainly make the local paper, I have seen far more innocuous stuff in it.....but maybe not at the moment!

JerseySpud · 17/02/2014 13:09

See i wouldn't unlock the bollard till 5.30.

I would make her come and ask for it to be lowered so she can move her car and THEN put it back up whilst shes watching.

Otherwise she will just carry on

beachyhead · 17/02/2014 13:28

Delurking to say well done. And having visions of a 'MN staring collective' round at yours at 5.30pm!

Clutterbugsmum · 17/02/2014 13:30

Thats what I meant Jerseyspud, don't unlock until 5.30pm but give her a time limit as to when they are going to be locked otherwise Mr and Mrs OP could be waiting up all night for her to remove her car because bin lady needs to be in control and OP needs to make it easy for her to get her car, but not so they are being controlled by bin lady.

If bin lady does go to the police because OP has locked the bollards say at 8pm then OP can prove they have done everything to make sure Bin lady and other tennets have been treated fairly.

JerseySpud · 17/02/2014 13:32

I get you Clutterbug

I so wish i could be there to drink wine and watch!

SauvignonBlanche · 17/02/2014 13:49

Had to go out this morning so only just seen the updates. What a cheeky mare! Shock

Cataline · 17/02/2014 13:58

I have laughed and laughed throughout this thread and the two previous ones. Mumsnet at its very best!

Bumbez · 17/02/2014 14:09

I've been lurking on this thread for a while and just found out you're in Ryde. I'm in Ryde too and happy to assist with any staring! Grin

GiraffesAndButterflies · 17/02/2014 14:31

Well played OP and OP's BIL Grin

Egusta · 17/02/2014 14:35

am in Cowes! I was so tempted today to drive to Ryde and just cruise the streets looking for bollards and angry women.

ebwy · 17/02/2014 14:50

I think you should all go and glare and make comments like "entitled parking idiot!" and cheer when the bollard gets locked.

And I hope the OP is relaxing to get her bp down
