4plusMum, why won't a torts notice work on the Isle of Wight?

EndoplasmicReticulum · 16/02/2014 19:01

4plus - normal laws / rules do still apply. I did used to get asked if we had the same money as everyone else, and if you needed to show your passport to get on the ferry....

IamtheZombie · 16/02/2014 19:03

lastnight, Zombie has seen those village of the damned children bollards in RL. They were outside a school on the route to MIL's house in Nottingham. They're even spookier than in the pictures.

Ratbagcatbag · 16/02/2014 19:12

I've driven by those a few times zombie, they are a bit creepy, I think it's worse at night. When children should be in bed and they're standing with their big grins just not moving.

Islandangel · 16/02/2014 19:17

All these Island people need to get themselves onto mumsnet local and see about having a meet up!

I havent seen all of the first post so can someone enlightened me to who 'Bin lady' is please?
I would be eternally grateful Thanks

Clutterbugsmum · 16/02/2014 19:24

they turn a car into a fish tank.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 16/02/2014 19:28

Bin lady banged on OP's door after bin men left OP's bin in her way to demand that OP move it

OP told her to move the bin herself

She did

4PlusMum · 16/02/2014 19:28

Sorry Endo, I'm being a twit! Of course your law is the same. I was thinking Guernsey when I said that.

WeAreDetective · 16/02/2014 19:29

Bin lady is so named because she (shouted at) complained to op that her bin was blocking her car in after the bin men had been. She expected op to leave her baby and move it.

This is also with bin lady knowing that she was, in fact, parked on op's land without permission.

So she is rude, illegally parked and apparently not in to remove said illegally parked car.

Due to her rudeness, we are all hoping the car gets pulped.

I like the idea of the tort.

mrsannekins · 16/02/2014 20:02

Ooh, I just stumbled across this, I love a good land dispute...shamelessly marking my place!

Ememem84 · 16/02/2014 20:13

am actually sad that I have to go to work tomorrow. Won't be able to check in as regularly to see the progress.

At least I'll have something to read at lunchtime.

(is it bad that we're all enjoying someone elses misfortune...?)

I wasn't sure if that was deliberate or an Ipad correction DrMaybe Grin

PigletJohn · 16/02/2014 20:33

I like chocolate torte.

VelmaD · 16/02/2014 20:43

Ah man, read to the end and no binlady update!

ShadowFall · 16/02/2014 20:53

If I knew bin lady's normal morning routine, I'd be sorely tempted to make sure I was out for a good few hours around her likely departure time tomorrow morning.

Very petty & probably wildly impractical I know, but still...

HSMMaCM · 16/02/2014 21:02

Can you find some strong men to lift the car out into a suitable parking space (only kidding, because you'd probably end up in trouble).

MisForMumNotMaid · 16/02/2014 21:04

Oh no i've got to the end and its not the end!

Better than Sunday night TV.

I hope bin lady doesn't have an early start.
