I mean WTF was that all about?
I spent days looking forward to series 2 and then he's stabbed with a bloody ice pick!
Spent almost the entire episode hoping and willing it all to be a big wind-up...expecting him to walk in any minute saying "Ah, got you there".
Rubbish storyline too.
What a crock of shite - won't be watching it again.
Love the other actors as I do, it can't be the same without Richard

Ben Miller... The actor wanted to leave. The plot line was fairly obvious but I thought it was enjoyable in a brainless, lovely setting sort of way.

I rather liked it. Thought the script writers dealt with the necessary change of actors well.

Not really a spoiler ScarletLady, as the storyline has been plugged extensively for the past 3 or 4 weeks, so we all knew that the Richard Poole character was being killed off.

I missed the previews too as dont watch a lot of TV so spoiler alert would have helped!

But the new guy likes the Caribbean and its exotic-ness (even though he bumbles a bit, like the archetypal Brit on the beach).
What I loved about Richard was that he didn't get on with anything in the Caribbean and struggled with it all. Hilarious.

There was an interview in the Radio Times this week with both actors. Ben Miller felt he needed to spend more time in the UK with his school aged child and baby. He loved the job but it just hasn't been compatible with his family life. Kris Marshall has been able to take his wife and child over with him.

It's been really well trailed in the media that Ben Miller left because he didn't want to spend 6 montsh of every year in the Caribbean away from his family. I've not seen any tv previews but I've read interviews.

I thought tonight's episode was pretty good. Scarlett it was on tv tonight so I don't think it is unreasonable for the OP to post details of this episode after it has been broadcast.
