I'm away for the Christmas period working for the family I Nanny for at the weekend. We are staying in a mansion/log cabin on the top of a mountain - very very secluded.

On the first night, I heard very light knocking in my room. Quite distinctive as knocking - like one of the kids wanted me. But the kids are on the opposite side of the house and there was no one around. This happened twice (early morning) but I was so tired I didn't think much of it.

The next morning it turned out that everyone in the House had heard the three light knocks at least once in the night.

I checked outside all the windows and there were recent animal prints (think Elk and Bear) and human foot prints circling the house. no one in our group had been outside at all and the prints didn't match anyone's shoes.

Second night, three light knocks again in the dead of night. Everyone heard them at different times.

Third night (last night) the knocks happened again and the four year old boy I look after starts talking about the "blood man" that only he can see being in the House Shock he keeps singing songs about the Blood Man.

AIBU in thinking that we're living some crazy horror film?

Handprint could have been there a long time and you only just noticed it now. Footprints near the house could be snow falling off in the night maybe and it impacted on the floor? Or they are footprints and were made by someone maintaining or nosying at the house and you've only noticed them the day after the noise because that was when you happened to look.

1 do ghost hover or leave foot prints?

Also it's fairly clear that Louis spence is infact the murderer

Could you pop out with a ruler to put against the foot prints so we can get an idea on size? Tia

I don't think it is a serial killer- sounds more like vampires to me. Make sure you are wearing flannelette pjyamas or a cartoon-character onesie to bed. Under no circumstances sleep in a negligee. If you have long hair, cut it.

And buy a shotgun.

I proper lol'd at the North Bumfuk gerrymandering comment up the thread. I have flu and my baby has flu so I wasn't sleeping but now I definitely can't sleep because I'm scared.

Objection I am still up (in the Midwestern US) and thanks to you I am afraid to take the dog out. She hates me now. Are you all right? I am genuinely freaked out on your behalf, and I think you should sleep with one of the other children (not the four year old. I really don't like the sound of him).

Right, the morning crowd are here to hand-hold with you now. The bin men have already crashed past and there's the delicate clanging of a delivery of extra beer for the pub up the road, so I'm not going to get back to sleep.

I've had a look at the photos, now that I'm on my laptop and not on my phone.

Most of them are animal prints.

The ones closest to the house were made by snow and/or icicles falling off the roof.

The handprint has probably been there since the last time the windows were washed in the autumn.
