superbagpuss · 23/12/2013 17:33

my dh has bought me a for your eyes only photo shoot

I have never asked for this and don't want to do it

he says it is to help me feel more comfortable in my body now I've put some weight on and make me feel sexy again

I hate the idea of stripping in front of a stranger

tbh I don't like me body at all at the moment but have no money for the gym at the moment

aibu to not do it?

Pooka · 23/12/2013 17:34

Oh god. My idea of hell! And I'm not even very body unconfident. Why would I want nekkid pics of myself when I can see myself in the mirror? Where would you put such a portrait?

Grim!

quesadilla · 23/12/2013 17:35

I wouldn't want to do it either. How offended would he be if you said you didn't want to?

WitchWay · 23/12/2013 17:36

Men like practical solutions, he finds you sexy & is trying to help, I can see why you might be a bit freaked out though!

Unexpected · 23/12/2013 17:37

Oh dear! That is the kind of present he really should have discussed with you before. Do you thick his intentions were good? Or is there some subliminal message here? TBH, I think these kind of photo shoots are more for the recipient of the photos than for the person taking part and if you are not comfortable about doing it, it will be a horrible experience.

MrsMangoBiscuit · 23/12/2013 17:37

Wow, not something I'd be doing. He probably thinks he was doing something nice, and thoughtful, but I sure hope he can get a refund. If not, get him to do the photo shoot and give you a nice print of him bringing sexy back! Grin

capsium · 23/12/2013 17:38

Has he been inspired by Gok? Confused

Say what you'd really like if for him to do the shoot, so you have pics of him instead! Grin

OatcakeCravings · 23/12/2013 17:38

Yuck!

MerryFuckingChristmas · 23/12/2013 17:39

I would give it right back again

I expect there will be some credulous thicko's who come on here though and say you should simply be glad he still finds you sexy, and if you don't go along with it he might go off and find someone who will

rookietherednosedreindeer · 23/12/2013 17:39

Yuck !

This is like last year when DH spent a fortune on wildly impractical underwear for me, which of course looks great in the bedroom, but naff all use anywhere else.

Can you get a refund and swap it for gym membership instead.

DeckTheHallsWithBoughsOfHorry · 23/12/2013 17:41

That's a present for himself, surely?

It obviously comes from a very kind place, but how utterly off the mark.

XiCi · 23/12/2013 17:42

Sounds like more of a present for him than you!

Would he be happy if you'd arranged for him to get photographed with all his bits hanging out?

superbagpuss · 23/12/2013 17:43

well that's the odd thing

he got himself done already to show me how tasteful it can be

OP posts:
Twinsplusonesurprise · 23/12/2013 17:43

It's a lovely thought I think. How gorgeous he must think you are. Perhaps he has the idea from Gok, it always seem to work wonders for the ladies in the programme.
If you don't like just tell him it's not your cup of tea and you'd rather the money was spent on X.
I'm sure there's no ulterior motive or hidden agenda, there usually isn't, is there? Sometimes men see things on one level and straightforward. My DH does anyway!

MerryFuckingChristmas · 23/12/2013 17:44

urggh, he got himself done ?

Does he insist on hanging it on the bedroom wall, or worse above the mantlepiece ? Grin

superbagpuss · 23/12/2013 17:45

no he gave to me

I burst into tears and had a melt down

OP posts:
FortyDoorsToNowhere · 23/12/2013 17:45

I couldn't do it, nobody sees me in the nude apart from DH.

wheretoyougonow · 23/12/2013 17:47

I'm sorry I'm no help at all as this made me laugh. My husband is always doing things like this and is surprised when I look at him with a mixture of despair and pity (because he really doesn't have a clue!)
One word - lists. Always give him a list - everyone is happy.
I wouldn't take this present but I also wouldn't read too much into it. Swap it for a family shoot?!

Gossipmonster · 23/12/2013 17:47

Really sorry but am pissing myself laughing at the thought of my OH getting this done.

Where on earth would we hang it?!

The kids would be mortified.

Chippednailvarnish · 23/12/2013 17:49

I find "those" sorts of photos incredibly contrived and the participants always either look like they are totally in love with themselves or that they want to die of embarrassment ...

YADNBU

superbagpuss · 23/12/2013 17:49

I had asked for a make fudge experience

last year he did really well and got me a trip in a powered glider

OP posts:
Moxiegirl · 23/12/2013 17:49

Is he normally like this or is it a genuine mistake. Either way if it was my dp he'd not hear the end of it Angry

CaptainHindsight · 23/12/2013 17:49

I am very body confident but hell no would that be happening!

I would be cringing for years!

CajaDeLaMemoria · 23/12/2013 17:51

They aren't all huge pictures. They make photo albums etc as well.

I'd love to do one, if I could afford it. Not for anyone in particular to see, but to celebrate how well my body has survived the last few years. It'd make me feel good, I think.

Are they returnable? It doesn't seem worth going if you won't be into it, I don't think the results would have the intended feel.

MerryFuckingChristmas · 23/12/2013 17:52

For me, it's not about "body confidence" ( I have plenty of that) but that it's just so tacky

erm, a "make fudge experience" ?

OP, you are not telling us porkies are you ? Hmm Xmas Smile

thinks this could be a reg having a bit of fun

superbagpuss · 23/12/2013 17:52

no I'm real

you can go into a fudge kitchen and make fudge and then eat it
