I bought £80 worth of toys for the DC's xmas from Amazon a few weeks ago. Still haven't received them. So I logged into my account and it says that they have been delivered and signed for (signed using my name).

So what the heck has happened? Looks like someone has forged my name :( What can I do?

Get this!!! Whoever forced my signature didn't even spell my name correctly. What the actual fuck.

Back to Amazon, go to Live Chat on their Help Page. I had a missing DVD earlier this week, and they've been incredibly helpful.

Guess you should contact the carrier as a starting point? If then you do believe that a fraud has taken place, contact the police.

womblesofwestminster · 27/11/2013 21:42

It's Yodel apparently.

I'm so so sad that someone could steal toddler's presents :(

Feel close to tears tbh. Little kids presents FFS.

Someone tell me IABU.

Amazon always has a delivery date so if haven't received should contact them. I had books damaged as courier left parcel out in rain and they replaced them no argument. If you ordered weeks ago why didn't you check until now - get email when dispatched to expect it a few days later...

foreverondiet · 27/11/2013 21:46

Don't get upset just yet - what did amazon say? The thief had no idea what was in the parcel...

TooTabooToBOOOOO · 27/11/2013 21:47

Yanbu. They are fuckwits.

birdybear · 27/11/2013 21:48

yes why on earth did you wait so long to see where they were? that won't work in your favour in a claim.

ViviDeBeauvoir · 27/11/2013 21:48

Contact amazon.

They've always been fantastic when I've had issues to resolve (one included it being delivered to the wrong address).

womblesofwestminster · 27/11/2013 21:48

I was waiting for them to arrive, and couldn't check the sorting office till today.

Yodel are known for this sort of thing aren't they? :(

I don't have this money to throw away.

Keep calm and do something proactive like actually contacting them...

AngelsLieToKeepControl · 27/11/2013 21:50

I have had a couple of issues recently with Amazon orders and they have been brilliant with dealing with them. Don't get upset, contact them and explain, it won't be the first time something like this has happened, they will advise you what to do.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 27/11/2013 21:50

Where are they saying they were delivered to? Your house?

Presumably that means the courier handed your goods to someone not in your house? I don't know how this could even have happened tbh.

Can you prove that you weren't at home when the goods were delivered?

onlyfortonight · 27/11/2013 21:52

Speak to them...a few weeks won't make much difference...they will contact their carrier and find out what happened. If the signature isn't yours then they will just have to investigate. Oh and by the way it wouldn't be unheard of for the delivery driver to sign for them! Have you checked around your property? I have heard of parcels ending up under bushes and thrown over walls...Yodel have a really poor track record.

womblesofwestminster · 27/11/2013 21:53

Where are they saying they were delivered to? Your house?

Apparently yes, but only DH and me live here (and toddlers). He is as fuming as I am.

rundontwalk · 27/11/2013 21:55

Contact Amazon! I'm sure the fact your name is miss-spelled will go in your favour! Seriously,I can't see that you will have a problem.

ziggiestardust · 27/11/2013 21:57

I had the same thing happen to me for DS' birthday. I called Amazon, they got in touch with the carrier (Royal Mail, actually) and the company. Within 24 hours I had an apology and a full refund.

Totally easy, no need to panic. Get it done tonight.

womblesofwestminster · 27/11/2013 21:58

Thanks guys. I've got a history of anxiety, but I thought I had out-grown it. Seemingly not.

I just can't stop running it over in my head that someone has stolen my toddlers' Christmas toys :(

MrsRajeshKoothrappali · 27/11/2013 21:59

DHL did this to me with £90 worth of stuff from Lego.com.

I rang up and they resent the item.

You can also make a complaint to Yodel and report a theft to the police.

littlewhitebag · 27/11/2013 22:00

You need to be emotionally detached and see it as a business transaction. Contact Amazon tomorrow and say you have not received the goods and take it from there.

womblesofwestminster · 27/11/2013 22:02

I will absolutely report to Amazon, Yodel and the police.

But what are the police likely to do? Roll their eyes because it's not thousands of pounds worth?

I had this happen, with the courier sign the delivery form on my behalf and deliver the parcel to the wrong (similar) address. Amazon sorted it out and sent replacements.

Ev1lEdna · 27/11/2013 22:09

I agree Amazon are very good at sorting out problems quickly.

Have you contacted them yet OP? I really hope it does get sorted out for you.

chipsandpeas · 27/11/2013 22:11

i had DPD deliver my amazon parcel to the wrong place - i contacted them and they checked with DPD who checked the GPS system on the delivery van which confirmed it was the wrong place

amazon sent me a replacement out no probs

MrsOB · 27/11/2013 22:18

Yodel are a sack of shite... Last Christmas they delivered my £100 worth of toys from Argos to a similar address... When I called Argos they couldn't care less as apparently the parcel had been delivered.... Luckily for me the very kind person who received the items realised the address was wrong and dropped off for me.... Good luck, I hope Amazon are better at sorting than Argos were x
