YANBU

I am looking for a machine that makes decent coffee.
Is it really great and how much was it?

twitchypalm · 12/11/2013 22:37

Its amazing and makes brilliant coffee. I got the t20 reduced to half price in Argos so only paid £49.99 for it. You get a £20 voucher to use towards coffee pods online when you register it with Tassimo. Grin

Good price. What about cleaning it etc? Is it easy?

twitchypalm · 12/11/2013 22:45

Very easy you just put water in the tank at the back press a button and it cleans itself. Thats my type of cleaning lol. My dcs are 9 and 8 and ive told them they can use it to make a hot choclate tommrow thats how easy it is.

Great, thanks. I will look into it. I hate drinking this disgusting instant coffee. I try lots of brands and they all taste crap!

iklboo · 12/11/2013 23:29

How much are the pods? We've got £40 Nectar points so could get one for £9 from Argos if they're still on offer.

Delilahlilah · 12/11/2013 23:32

I have a nespresso citiz and I totally love it. Has the separate milk heater /frother too. V useful.
Does AMazing hot and cold drinks :)

twitchypalm · 13/11/2013 11:08

The pods range from £3:49-£4:99 but they are always on offer in places and amazon do really good deals

I had one...after about a year the novelty wears off....

claig · 13/11/2013 12:06

Has anyone got a bean-to-cup machine?

LaurieFairyCake · 13/11/2013 12:09

I've had my Nespresso machine for 10 years and still really love it. It was the first one made ( by Magimix) and is incredibly solid and well engineered

I've saved a fortune over the years on buying coffee

SoleSorceress · 13/11/2013 12:20

I got mine from Tassimo Facebook page last week. £45 = £5 P&P. Also £20 voucher for pods of which I cannot find at the moment.

I like the cappuccino and latte.

Very strong coffee and messed up my sleeping pattern the nightb I had it :)

YANBU

Yet to try the Milka hot choc!

We have one and dont use it. The pods are just too expensive to be worth it. Just a frivolous waste of money for us.

DragonMamma · 13/11/2013 12:58

YABU

Mine broke constantly - after the 4th replacement, I shoved it in the shed because they refused to refund me (it was a wedding gift). They were all manufacturer faults.

eatriskier · 13/11/2013 13:21

YANBU - my tassimo rocks. Bought mine a while ago for a far higher price than they're going for now but I reckon its still worth the money.

If you like a particular type (like my love of Costa Americano) then you can bulk buy for a discount on amazon.

Whistleblower0 · 13/11/2013 13:34

We have a nespresso with the frother. Absoloutely love it and it has saved us a fortune. DH is really particular about his coffee, and we use it lots.
Only thing is you cant do hot choc with a nespresso. Might investigate the Tassimo machine.as i have some argos vouchers! How does it work regarding making hot cocolate?
Do you use pods like for coffee?

nonmifairidere · 13/11/2013 13:58

The best coffee comes from an Italian Mokka type espresso maker- £8.99 for a 4 cup size. £4.99 for a battery operated 'whizzer'' if you want capucinni. Those really would save you a fortune.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 13/11/2013 14:00

I love my Tassimo more than I love Dp Grin I've had it about a year and the novelty hasn't worn off yet.

Shonajoy · 13/11/2013 14:13

We have a bean to cup machine, use it about 15 times a day got it half price as was an older model. Takes 30 seconds to heat up.

I was looking at the pod machines before I got it the pods seem expensive but I suppose it evens out.

ZombieMojaveWonderer · 13/11/2013 14:16

I have one and love it but the pods are very expensive if you use it a lot. We have a caramel latte once a day and that's enough for me luckily or I'll be bouncing off the walls. Wink

claig · 13/11/2013 14:20

Thanks, charleybarley. I didn't realise they took so long. For black coffee are they better? What does it taste like and what make do you have and how big are they, do they take up a lot of space?

claig · 13/11/2013 14:22

Shonajoy what make do you have and what does it taste like and how big is the machine and what about cleaning it etc?

If they taste anything like you get in shops and restaurants, they sound like they might be worth getting, even though they are expensive.

eatriskier · 13/11/2013 14:45

whistle tea/coffee/chocolate all work the same way - pop a pod in, press the button and go. Though… some drinks require multiple pods (which may be the same as nespresso).

I've tried Tassimo and Nespresso and they usually make a small cup of coffee, but I've found you can run them twice and still have a lovely tasting large drink. This is a tip for people who don't believe in anything less than Venti/Massimo in shops Wink
