To apologise a week later?

Background: I was rude to WorldPeaceAndFreeProsecco on a thread about dentists. So, quite rightly, she ripped me a new one.

I apologise first for offences against style and content to the whole board, and to WPAFP for being an arse.

Second, and this is a bit more important, I breached the MN "safe space". Too many posters are living with the kind of twat I was for (hopefully) a short interval. Only their twats are full time.

I know it's been nearly a week but TBH I've been building the courage to come back; female disapproval used to come with fists when I was younger. Still tend go a bit catatonic and vomity when shouted at. Bit odd after nearly 40 years.

I like it here. On occasion, I might be able to help. I've been helped as well. Also, Lemon Drizzle was right up there with The Picolax Thread. So if it's all right I'd like to keep posting. I can do you HGVs, leg injuries, opioids, barking teenage DD, residential care via DW, bacon. Viagra and side effects on request only.

Right, asbestos on, assume foetal position.

it be reet.

AgentZigzag · 05/10/2013 21:57

YABU to not sort this out privately with the poster.

YABU to choose to do it on AIBU.

YADBU to do it to someone when you're apologising about breaching their 'safe space'.

Not nice.

AgentZigzag · 05/10/2013 21:58

'it be reet.'

Huh? Maybe I've misread the OP? (presuming that means 'it'll be alright')

mineofuselessinformation · 05/10/2013 21:59

Hope you've sent her a PM.

ExitPursuedByABear · 05/10/2013 22:00

I missed a thread about dentists Shock

I have a dental issue.

Off to AS

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 05/10/2013 22:03

OK. Cocked up again. As the ripping was done on an open AIBU thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1867690-Men-who-post-sleazy-shit-about-their-sex-lives , although I wsn't named, I thought the apology should be public as well.

OP posts:
ExitPursuedByABear · 05/10/2013 22:07

Is it really about dentists or shall I not bother clicking

I really don't get it now, it's not about dentists and you must have NC because your MN name's not on there, is that what you mean by 'although I wasn't named'? Confused

RevelsRoulette · 05/10/2013 22:36

Would it not have made more sense to apologise on the thread in question?

ExitPursuedByABear · 05/10/2013 22:42

It's not about dentists!

Mrsmorton · 05/10/2013 22:46

Exit, is this still about your splint????? Please message me because it's ridiculous that you're not sorted.....

candycoatedwaterdrops · 05/10/2013 22:47

I think I need wine.

drawsofdrawers · 05/10/2013 22:48

I have wine Candy. chin chin

ExitPursuedByABear · 05/10/2013 22:48

I will Mrs M.

kali110 · 05/10/2013 22:49

Can you put a link that actually works?

steppemum · 05/10/2013 22:55

I know this is AIBU but I think you are all being a bit harsh on OP. She is trying to apologise. Let's assume she is genuine, and wants to apologise!

AgentZigzag · 05/10/2013 23:11

Why would you want everyone to know you're apologising though steppemum?

It's like standing up in a particularly sweary office and apologising to a colleague, embarrassing for the person it's aimed at and just not necessary.

Kali110 - the non-dentist thread

AgentZigzag · 05/10/2013 23:13

Plus, how will WorldPeace see it's here? The title hasn't got her name in it or anything.

Bit of a blunderbuss approach.

ExitPursuedByABear · 05/10/2013 23:15

Is there a dentist?

AgentZigzag · 05/10/2013 23:23

I'm not a dentist, but I can pretend if it's any help Exit?

ExitPursuedByABear · 05/10/2013 23:28

I need impartial and none money making reality

ExitPursuedByABear · 05/10/2013 23:30

Is a Blunderbuss a dental tool?

AgentZigzag · 05/10/2013 23:36

'Is a Blunderbuss a dental tool?'

I've only used it once, never again, too messy.

But on a lighter note, they didn't notice their toothache so much afterwards Smile

Swings and roundabouts.

Pickle131 · 06/10/2013 05:31

Agree with steppemum. Nothing wrong with a public apology. Maybe it should have been done on the original thread but it took some courage OP and apologising is always good.
