State or private school?

I think if I had the money I would send my children to private school, but do you really think it's worth the money?

I've had quite a lot to do with both state and independent schools. I think it's probably worth considering private for averagely bright children, but not worth the investment for children who are very bright, nor for those who just aren't academically inclined.
