I hate the winter .Snow, wet windy cold weather.

Why does people look forward to autumn/winter.

Winter is very bleak.

Agree, actually considering buying a light box as my mood totally deteriorates in the darker months.

McNewPants2013 · 07/09/2013 00:50

It's depressing

Yanbu at all, I have loved every second of actually having a summer but I'm not ready for it to end - or indeed for the electric bills Hmm

DoJo · 07/09/2013 01:00

Well, I wilt in the heat so quite looking forward to wearing sleeves again. Also am planning to lose weight over the winter whilst swathed in a million jumpers and big coats only to emerge sylph like next spring and enjoy the astonishment on everyone's faces.

AgentZigzag · 07/09/2013 01:00

I loathe not being able to hide behind the layering up of clothes you can do in the winter, just one layer makes me feel so exposed and a bit vulnerable, naked in fact Grin

I don't like being cold, but cool is cool.

AgentZigzag · 07/09/2013 01:01

Grin at posting exactly the same time saying roughly the same thing DoJo.

I love autumn, but I also like an Indian summer. So far in this particular part of the South-East, the weather is still hot and dry, and I'm hoping it keeps on like this.

DoJo · 07/09/2013 01:07

Ah Agent Zig Zag, great minds obviously not only think alike but also stay up late to do so! Although you managed to only post it once, where as I am obviously doing some kind of cyber affirmation thing by repeating my point for no good reason!

FetchezLaVache · 07/09/2013 01:09

I love the autumn colours, the crisp, cold but sunny days you sometimes get but I have to say I hate the tail end of summer. I think it's the nights drawing in and the knowledge that before you know it, it'll be dark by 4pm that gets me.

AgentZigzag · 07/09/2013 01:14

I'm feeling a bit hemmed in and oppressed by your posts there DoJo Grin

I 'get fit'/cut down every Feb/March, so every Sept I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (the layering up bit) and I can relax until next year again Grin

springytufty · 07/09/2013 01:19

I am devastated every year. So much so, I'm going to have to live somewhere else, I just can't take waiting all year for a quick blob of sunshine.

but I am very very happy to report that it is still very hot where I live (south west). I'm spending every spare moment outside to catch every last drop. Then I'm doing a TEFL course and I'm off.

VerySmallSqueak · 07/09/2013 01:23

I wouldn't go as far as saying that its making me unhappy as such, but I really will miss it.
We had a fantastic summer though and packed a lot in so I shall feed off the memories yet awhile.

DaleyBump · 07/09/2013 01:45

YABVVVVVVVVU. Oh god. I have STRUGGLED this summer! I'm pregnant and due in 12 weeks and can't wait for the cold!

LegoDragon · 07/09/2013 01:58

YANBU! We are high up north and got 24hrs of sunlight from May-late July which was shit but the whole of August was lovely with perfect amounts. I hate winter Sad

MairzyDoats · 07/09/2013 02:03

YADNBU, and you know why? Because winter didn't sodding end until MAY this year, and that means we have been short changed by a whole two months! So actually we haven't even had time to get sick of summer. And I, for one, am definitely not ready for winter again yet!

Disgusted of Herts.

AgentZigzag · 07/09/2013 02:13

Is it stupid of me to ask whether that means you get 24 hour darkness at some point Lego?

How do both of them work out?

Just makes me think of Winston Smith in 1984 when he didn't have an indicators of what time it was, freaks your body clock out.

GrandstandingBlueTit · 07/09/2013 02:20

January and February are grim in the northern hemisphere, for sure, but this time of year winding down to Christmas is nice, isn't it? Autumn and the Christmas build-up do have some redeeming features.

I always found that it helped narrowing winter down to two, albeit bloody depressing, months, made it easier to bare and get through.

LegoDragon · 07/09/2013 02:27

Yep,m24hrs of darkness sometimes.

SeaSickSal · 07/09/2013 02:27

YANBU, but this summer has been great. So many happy memories for me and great weather.

McNewPants2013 · 07/09/2013 02:37

I have loved the summer, even though I have hay fever.

YADNBU, I have had a very unusual summer, found someone who caused me both joy and pain but definately memorable, but as for the weather yes. Still I hope we can keep snug and cosy and summer will return next year Smile

MrsMongoose · 07/09/2013 02:45

I love the winter! My new coat and boots are gorge and I can't wait to wear them!
