Dear Yodel....
Please deliver my parcel, in one piece, on the day it was meant to arrive.
To read the instructions... To not take the parcel 23 miles away that I cannot get to in your opening hours before you send it back to the sender.....

sigh I only wanted coffee

Tell me your yodel stories, I'm going to write them a bloody book!

smokinaces · 06/09/2013 19:28

The open university uses yodel. And so far I have been amazed by their service. In fact, Tesco mobile use them too and the driver and service were great then too!

ridiculoussingle · 06/09/2013 19:30

Well, my books for my course havent arrived despite other people having received them. Looking online at their 'tracker' the courier has had it since Tuesday.

Another time I looked online and found it had a 'attempted delivery, card left', on a date where I basically spent all day with my ear out for a knock at the door. lucky I looked online, as there was no bloody note left, no contact number or anything. I had to call the OU to get contact details to get my bloody parcel.

I HATE yodel.

Ezio · 06/09/2013 19:32

Yeah, i get my OU stuff through Yodel, i cant actually complain.

newestbridearound · 06/09/2013 19:34

The one time I used them to collect a parcel I wanted sending they made me wait in for 2 days and never turned up. Not a fan.

Iwasagnome · 06/09/2013 19:34

2 big parcels left outside my door when we were out.

Right house number ,wrong street.

had to deliver them myself!

TheFutureMrsB · 06/09/2013 19:36

Been waiting for a delivery all day, paid for next day yesterday, no sign, checked the website tracking and it should be with me tomorrow! Not good enough at all, why businesses choose to use them is beyond me! Angry Next day delivery my arse!

Yodel put a delivery note through my door re a parcel for my one year old. I was in at the time, they didn't bother knocking. The note was barely legible and most of the information was missing. The next day we got a second delivery note with nothing written on it. I phoned Yodel and they told me that my 1yo (who the parcel was addressed to, I guessed it was a first birthday present) had signed for the parcel. I disputed the probability of that and Yodel told me that the parcel was from Amazon and I would have to take it up with them. The thing was I hadn't ordered the item and I didn't know who had so Amazon couldn't help. I phoned Yodel again and they gave me a reference number for Amazon. I phoned Amazon, the number meant nothing to them. I then decided to use the Yodel website and ended up on a live chat with one of their advisors. She told me to go to Amazon etc etc i told her they couldn't help me etc etc. her response? She told me to phone the police if Amazon wouldn't help me!! I said that I thought maybe the police should be called because someone at Yodel had obviously stolen the parcel and falsely declared the my 1yo had signed for it. She got very shirty with me, then, before I could reply, said oh look it's 9pm the web chat's finished and disappeared. I managed to resolve it all through Amazon in the end. Although I've no idea if the Yodel thief was ever dealt with.

Yodel "delivered" my husbands kindle through an open utility room window.

The also recently "missed me" to exchange my sons bike, apparently I was out. It took them from the time I saw them arrive, yes I was loitering by the window, to walk the six feet from there to the front door, to chuck a card in and drive off!

Bastards, I hate them!

Bearbehind · 06/09/2013 20:01

The git that delivers for Yodel around here leaves his phone number but you can only call the bastard between 9am and 6pm- he won't answer outside of those times but if I was at home at those times is could take the delivery myself.

He tries on 2 consecutive weekdays but as I frequently work away during the week and the fucker sends my parcels back.

Sorry for the rant- touched a nerve!

UseHerName · 06/09/2013 20:09

my yodel delivery driver is lovely Grin

HorsesDogsGuineapigs · 06/09/2013 20:10

The last time I used them, I missed the delivery and had a card through with delivery man's number on. Brilliant, called it, no answer. Called the depot number on the card, arranged to collect it myself the next day (easier for me). Went there as arranged, they apparently couldn't help me as there should have been some number on the missed delivery card written by driver which wasn't there. Hmm

After a rather heated discussion, they started looking for parcel. Eventually came back, saying they didn't have parcel and I would be called the next day to arrange delivery.

Within an hour or so, I was called by a supervisor. To be fair to her, she was lovely, and couldn't apologize enough, she also managed to arrange delivery for that (same) day. Delivery did make it as arranged but I wasn't impressed when the delivery man said if he'd known how pretty I was, he'd have made sure he'd done it properly Hmm

Yodel decided that my green household waste outdoor bin was a 'safe place' to leave my OU package... Luckily DP saw it and fished it out before putting it out to be emptied... No note to let me know it was there either. Yuck.

Bearfrills · 06/09/2013 20:14

I hate Yodel.

I ordered a pushchair from Mothercare and the various accessories. The can pulled up and the driver sat in the cab, smoking, while the woman I presume to be his girlfriend hopped out, nattily dressed in pyjamas and a hi-vis jacket. She got me to sign for the delivery and then left the boxes in the middle of the carpark, 15 feet from my door. And they stank of smoke.

We complained and he decided to play funny buggers after that. For our next delivery e didn't even knock at the door, he simply shoved a card through saying it was with out next door neighbour. The idiot had to walk past our living room window to post the card and almost shat himself when DH opened the front door just as he posted it.

We complained again. The next time he delivered we were out. The card through the door simply read "your package is at number four". We live on a crossroads of four streets and had to go to all of the number fours before we found it.

DeathMetalMum · 06/09/2013 20:23

Use must live near me as I also have a decent yodel delivery guy. Rare species apparantly.

UseHerName · 06/09/2013 20:37

is he called glenn metalmum?

lougle · 06/09/2013 20:38

I ordered from a company who offered free next day delivery if order value exceeded £70. I ordered on a Sunday, so expected delivery on Tuesday. At 4.30pm I checked tracking on Yodel. It said it was at the sorting depot. I phone Yodel and explained that I was expecting it that day - she said the company was delayed in handing it over, so hadn't got to the sorting depot in time. I said 'but the email I have, confirming dispatch is timed 4.39pm.' She told me they had been delayed and it wasn't Yodel's fault.

I then phoned said company and said 'I was expecting your item today, but Yodel say it won't come until tomorrow.' The woman said 'No, your item will be delivered today.' I said 'I've just spoken to them. They still have the parcel in the sorting office.' Turns out that her system still said that they would fulfil delivery. When she contacted them, they said that indeed, it would be delivered the following day.

I told her that Yodel were saying it was the company's fault. She got so cross that she refunded me the delivery cost, despite me not having paid delivery, as compensation Grin

Groovee · 06/09/2013 20:40

Actually my experience was very positive this week. The courier left his number on the card and said he would redeliver by 7.45am the next morning and arrived at 7.15am.

MrsPnut · 06/09/2013 20:45

My home delivery yodel man is fantastic, he lives not far from me and I have his mobile number so if I urgently need something I can text him and he will reorganise his delivery route. Otherwise, he knows I get home after 3:30 so anything needing a signature gets delivered after this.

SupermansBigRedPants · 06/09/2013 21:04

Our yodel used to come bang on 9. Grand. Except the yodel man made my skin crawl he just screamed pervert somehow. We moved 15 minutes away and now get deliveries around lunchtime by s really friendly lady - I'm much happier!

freddiefrog · 06/09/2013 21:07

Yeah, they're pretty bad - parcels chucked over the garden fence, claims they'd delivered when they hadn't left a card, lost parcels...last time I had problems I just asked Vistaprint (who I was buying from) for a replacement, and they did it.

Tweeting @yodelonline got a quick response but it was never sorted...!

KillerOfThreads · 06/09/2013 21:30

I love our yodel-ers, never had a problem with them Grin
