Dear Yodel....
Please deliver my parcel, in one piece, on the day it was meant to arrive.
To read the instructions... To not take the parcel 23 miles away that I cannot get to in your opening hours before you send it back to the sender.....

sigh I only wanted coffee

Tell me your yodel stories, I'm going to write them a bloody book!

I lost half my post there.
Was supposed to say - I always find these threads surprising because......

olibeansmummy · 06/09/2013 21:48

I hate yodel Angry. I just had to ring the book people to find out where my parcel is and lo and behold its coming with yodel and apparently they tried to deliver my parcel on the 4th but my property is inaccessible... I live in a normal cul-de-sac and my house goes straight into the street, there's nothing inaccessible about it!

The previous time, they left my parcel on the door step. I complained to ELC and they said they had 2 delivery notes for it ( so surely that says that at least one is a lie...) one saying it was left with a neighbour, they had a fake signature and name as well and one saying it was 'in' my porch and no we don't have a porch. Idiots!!!

HahaHarrie · 06/09/2013 21:55

I have a lovely Yodel man. I think he's a contractor (doesn't drive a Yodel van), but he is great. No complaints here. City Link on the other hand I abhor.

bimbabirba · 06/09/2013 21:56

A couple of years ago I ordered a bike on ebay for my son's birthday which unfortunately was going to be delivered by Yodel. To stayed in the day it was supposed to arrive as the website said "out for delivery" but no one came. Same thing happened for another two days,I tried phoning but kept being passed around or disconnected. It was my son's birthday the following day and I just drove to the Yodel depot hoping it would be there.
The bike was in fact there and it had never been loaded onto the vans because it was too big to fit in the drivers' cars. They don't use professional drivers around here, they only have self-employed people who drive their own cars and don't give a shit

StickyFloor · 06/09/2013 22:17

I had a text to say they had failed to deliver my parcel and left a note as it was with a neighbour. As I had been in all day I knew that was a lie. Looked in the porch and there was no note.

Checked online and it said parcel was at depot.

Online chat said driver had left it with number 208. I live at 207 but the opposite side of the street numbers are out of line so 208 is really far away, so I knew the driver had just made this up.

Next morning I drove to 208 (it's that far away!) and they knew nothing about it. Got back home and found my parcel abandoned on the doorstep in plain sight of anyone passing.

I complained that the driver was a stupid, incompetent, liar but they could not have cared less.

sarcasticrobot · 06/09/2013 22:35

Yodel are evil and before they were Yodel they were HDNL who had to have a name change because everyone knew they were evil

I was waiting for a package and it didn't arrive and so rang them and said they couldn't find where i lived but that the driver now had a map and would deliver it tomorrow between 12 and 3 (i did worry that the driver couldnt find my flat even though its been in the same place for 50 years and you can see it at least 5 miles away)
Tomorrow comes but no delivery they then said oh we deliver between 7-7 and so though oh its coming at some point but no 6.45 rolls on by and no package so i ring and the person i spoke to said oh its not 7 yet so i made him stay on the phone with me till 7 and when it didn't arrive i was put through to a manager who tried to fob me off but by this point i was annoyed and quite forceful and direct that the manager said he would personally deliver it tomorrow which to his credit he did but he literally threw it at me and said here it is and i had to resist the urge to throw it back at his head

I now check before i order anything online and if they use Yodel i refuse to order it its just not worth the hassle

Oddsocksrus · 06/09/2013 22:50

Glad it's not just me Grin

Our latest battle has been over nespresso pods, for two years no problems.. Now they change to yodel, no pods, lies over delivery cards (not in, need a signature, second attempt listed as third...)

Lovely lovely lady at nespresso is trying to make them deliver here but given they were meant to be here a week ago...
No more frothy coffee Sad

I can see I need to join the club of 'if you use yodel no order..'

They delivered my package to someone three streets away. He wasn't impressed when he brought it round.

petalsandstars · 06/09/2013 22:57

Waiting in for a delivery - small house- can see through the glass in the front door - saw someone fiddling about moving the wheelie bin by the kitchen window as it was getting dark in winter, DH opens the door to see what is going on to find the Yodel delivery man opening up the wheelie bin to deposit our delivery in as a safe place!

Hadn't knocked or rung the bell!!!!

It was bin collection day the next day so if we'd not interrupted the idiot then the parcel would have been not only in with all the rubbish but then disposed of in the bin lorry the next morning!

Hate the drivers in my area.

Shosha1 · 06/09/2013 23:02

Try living on an Army Camp, behind the wire.

Means that Yodel driver has to get to the guardroom, get out and sign in.

They dont.

Tracking says usually that they tried to deliver and no one in.

Liars, the guardroom have a record of every entry to Camp.

They just cant be bothered to go through the sign in and dont even try.

Ezio · 06/09/2013 23:45

I've never had a complaint, must say though, only ever had to deal with them 3 times.

But after all the complaints i've seen, i wonder why companies still deal with them, Yodel most be costing businesses a fortune.

Oddsocksrus · 07/09/2013 16:36

Day 8 no coffee........
Come on yodel!

I was going to buy something from Gap using the money off code but checked the delivery service first. Yodel... Forget it.

microserf · 07/09/2013 18:45

Ooh. I chased up an elc parcel with elc when they used yodel. Turns out they had delivered it and left it in a safe location but forgotten to leave a card. The safe location was my bin.

Discovered this on Thursday. Rubbish collections re Wednesday.

Elc were excellent about replacing it.

AGnu · 07/09/2013 18:50

We've had issues with them in the past but just recently had a parcel delivered by 2 lovely chaps. I was holding my newborn so one offered to bring it inside for me. It was a carpet cleaner so the other bloke said that bringing it inside wasn't enough, he should set it up & get cleaning! Grin

Left ds's birthday present next to the bin which is at the side of the house, well according to their delivery card they did as there was no parcel there when I got back. Checked in the bin, back garden, checked with neighbours incase they'd taken it in to keep it safe etc.

Dumped £250 of Christmas presents on my back door step which can be clearly seen from the street so might as well have been the front step. Thankfully this one was there when I got back.

Delivered a parcel to my house number but three streets away which has a different postcode and completely different name (I'm at 123 red street and they delivered to 123 blue street).

Not us but sil had her new phone "left in your safe space" (her hedge) according to online tracking, luckily it was found before it rained/was nicked. They hadn't even entered the garden never mind knocked on the door.

Absolutely shocking service and they don't give a toss if you complain either.

FASH84 · 02/06/2018 13:50

I fucking hate yodel they give our parcels to anyone, or leave them on the front step in full view of any passerby or throw them over the back garden fence in the rain!!!!! 😡😡😡

Onlyoldontheoutside · 02/06/2018 13:51

Had this around Christmas.A parcel that I ordered didn't come,I chased it it was delivered a week later.Nice email saying parcel delivered and in porch.
They are a bit thicker about porches aren't they,I was away and my neighbour rescued it from the bottom of our parking space.
Another email saying my mum's wine had been delivered.Phoned my mum,no it hadn't.
Yodel said it had.We had a nice note through my mum's door from some people about a mile away who had phoned the wine company to findy mums address. It had gone to a retirement home.Luckily I was visiting and could collect but my mum on her own couldn't have.Gave a bottle and flowers to the woman who left the message.
I use the wine company regularly and told them,I get the feeling from the resigned way the call went that they had to replace a lot of undelivered wine that year.

DontTouchTheMoustache · 02/06/2018 13:56

Zombie thread but I've just had a text saying my parcel was delivered to a neighbour despite nobody knocking on my door (I am sat in the house facing the window, impossible to miss them plus I have a rather overenthusiastic dog who barks at a flea farting 4 miles away and he hasn't made a peep). Fucking hopeless.
