AIBU to ask who fanny farts?!? And if this increased with the number of children you had?! Today I woke up and FF when I got up out of bed this isn't normal is it?!? I've had two children and I never used to randomly FF after DC1!!

I've never fanny farted not for want of trying when a young teen but i haven't had any children yet!

Sex can cause air to be pumped into the vagina which will be expelled when you stand up with the help of gravity. Can't see any cause from FF though. Unless you were doing pelvic floor exercises before you got up to FF? Those exercises would likely suck in air into your vagina.
I never did them, but know it is now advised.

And, I was thinking that the pelvic floor exercises would have to be done knickerless to suck in air.
Interesting link as I did lots of exercise when younger < but in tights and knickers< especially the sideways splits from a shoulder stand came to mind. Also did that a couple of times after sex when TTC, but it never worked and don't remember FFing, as too long ago.

But I did have a very tone core and pelvic muscles then.

Well I have never had kids but have a real FF problem particularly in the run up to my period.And the worst thing is I don't know it's going to happen and can't control it and it's often happened at work!!! Luckily so far it's been when there's been a lot of noise in the background but I know it's only a matter of time before it happens when the office is quiet..and then I'll have to resign.And explain to the Jobcentre when I sign on why I lost my job.

Been doing too much yoga? There's one particular position (I forget what it's called) that causes ALL women to FF, without fail! My friend who does yoga says she can always spot the newbie in the class - they're the one who goes bright red and looks really uncomfortable & embarrassed when they do that position and it just rips out from her nether regions!

Gosh: I've never done a FF. Does that mean I have an iron vagina and a steel pelvic floor?

But, just so you don't think I'm stealth boasting - tmi coming....ever since I had surgery for piles (thanks a bunch DC1) I can suffer from escaping bum farts. Think I would prefer FFs.

Hmm, I used to fanyfart a lot, I think I could do it from teens and often during sex . I do remember having a bit of trouble with it during yoga 3 or 4 years back, my friend who also went to the same yoga (no DC) used to complain of a wind problem during the sessions but no, I was definitely trumping from the front and quite a lot. I kept hoping others mistook it for a proper fart as the instructor told my friend that was normal!

Oddly I recently thought about it and realised I no longer do it. Hmm, what's caused that? Old age? More toned . No idea but my NSA chap happened to mention on our last get together that I was much tighter now than I had been 3 years ago so maybe, just maybe I've toned up in my old age.
