I've only had 5 weeks and 3 days off instead of 6 weeks and really notice the difference.

PeazlyPops · 31/08/2013 22:32

Did you post too soon?

LazyMonkeyButler · 31/08/2013 22:34

Maternity leave? Holiday? What?

TBF, I'd be pissed off if someone stole 4 days off me.

barebranches · 31/08/2013 22:34

I know what you mean...Wink plus iv been in all week setting up. Happy new year!

Alisvolatpropiis · 31/08/2013 22:35

Assuming we're talking about annual leave - book it off then.

Fakebook · 31/08/2013 22:36

Are you a teacher? YABU. You get enough holidays as it is Wink Wink.

Blueandwhitelover · 31/08/2013 22:36

We only had 5 weeks and 2 days-I feel cheated.
I am not ready to go back

SeaSickSal · 31/08/2013 22:36

I think she means the summer holidays...

LuvMyBoyz · 31/08/2013 22:37

Sorry. I'm a teacher and we usually have a six week holiday but this year it has only been 5 weeks and 3 days. Could do with the other 2 days.

Teacher?

Marshy · 31/08/2013 22:38

Gutted for you - no really I am....

UserError · 31/08/2013 22:38

Ah, ok. I'm a SAHP so every day is a holiday for me. Wink

JOKING, JOKING, before the po-faced brigade kick off...

treas · 31/08/2013 22:39

X-post but don't think you'll get much sympathy

BeauNatt · 31/08/2013 22:39

Hahaha. Nope, YABU, sorry.

LuvMyBoyz · 31/08/2013 22:40

I might get sympathy from fellow teachers?

MrsAFlowerpot · 31/08/2013 22:40

5 weeks 2 days here too. But A Level results exactly 3 weeks after end of term and GCSEs last week so have actually already been in daily for two and a half weeks Wink

WorraLiberty · 31/08/2013 22:40

Surely you'll just get those days added on to other holidays?

SoonToBeSix · 31/08/2013 22:41

Actually I felt robbed of time with my dc. Why were the holidays shorter this year does anyone know?

chocoholic05 · 31/08/2013 22:41

Do you mean your dc school only had five weeks holidays this year? I ask because my boys school only had five weeks this year and I have certainly noticed the difference. I know I know it's only a week what difference does a week make! But I think it does. They had a week at home a fortnight holiday two weeks at home and now they're back on Tuesday. Just doesn't seem long this year. So if that is what you meant then yanbu!

barebranches · 31/08/2013 22:42

What teacher ever takes the full 6 weeks off anyway? ive been in school about 2 of the 6 weeks plus some prep at home.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/08/2013 22:42

Don 't worry, it will be half term in a couple of weeks.

Anyway, as a teacher, surely you didn't have any time off? I thought all teachers worked through the holidays, lesson planning etc? Wink

chocoholic05 · 31/08/2013 22:42

Just seen your last post! So I was right.

KatyPutTheCuttleOn · 31/08/2013 22:43

I know you get a lot of holidays in schools but when it's time with your own children it matters.
Sorry you had less this time round.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/08/2013 22:43

Oh! Classic cross post! Grin

Blueandwhitelover · 31/08/2013 22:44

I think it felt so bad because it always takes a week to relax after the stress of the last few weeks. In effect this year that meant we were 'two weeks in', DH then had two weeks off.
I have been doing housework all this week.
I need MORE time.
