Fucking chocolate snowmen for Christmas! Wtf? It isn't even September yet!

I saw that Mamas and Papas are selling their My First Christmas stuff already in the store! Its on your face when you walk in.

I dont need reminding about Christmas just yet as its birthday season now!

I like chocolatey stuff coming out in general, but this is a bit much.Mind you, it's barely a few months away, it just seems like ages. My DC have started counting down the days Hmm

thornrose · 31/08/2013 10:38

I saw a shop full of Halloween stuff the other day, it's still August. It gets to me every year!

Misspixietrix · 31/08/2013 12:35

OP. Theyve been in ours since Last week! Grin YNBU. The Card Shop has had Christmas Cards in since July! Shock

mistlethrush · 31/08/2013 12:38

I once threatened to walk out of a small clothes shop in October when they had carols on... they said it was company policy - I said, as I was the only person in at the time, I would be happy to leave if they preferred to leave it on.. they switched it for something else!

Ezio · 31/08/2013 12:45

My friend works are Co op, went in yesterday, loads of xmas stuff.

nennypops · 31/08/2013 12:46

Why do shops do this? Does anyone actually buy Christmas stuff in August?

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/08/2013 12:47

yep, that was my fb status/pic today - went into town and there in card shop was xmas cards/pressies/bags etc -its august!!!! ffs

EnglishGirlApproximately · 31/08/2013 12:51

Loads of people buy this early. I start getting bits in September and sticking them in the spare rooms I don't gave to rush around in December. A lot if people who work on retail and hospitality (like me) get very little time off in the run up to Christmas so like to do it now.

When I was a manager for Woolies I loved putting cream eggs out on xmas eve just to see people getting wound up Grin

BumpAndGrind · 31/08/2013 12:53

I work in the Co Op. We have our Christmas stuff in, but haven't put it on the shop floor yet, ffs.

MammaTJ · 31/08/2013 13:17

They are the supermarket who insisted on the lads mags covering up and now they are allowing this obcenity on full display!! Shock

It just isn't on!!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 31/08/2013 13:18

I love it. I bloody hate the summer and it gives me hope that the misery will soon end :o

QueenArseClangers · 31/08/2013 19:45

Our local Co-op had mince pies for sale in September. The sell by date was the end of October (confused)

cardibach · 31/08/2013 19:54

I hate anything that encourages us to wish our lives away. Life is short and precious and I don't want to rush it along by thinking about Christmas in August.

confettiwoman · 31/08/2013 20:34

Running our own business doing party supplies you do have to think ahead, but then trying to shove it down your throat from August is a tad unreasonable - i saw a ad on the food network that next weekend is 'Christmas Preview weekend' - now i love Autumn and Halloween, so surely they should be plugging that first?

And having seen Cadburys Cream Eggs in Sainsburys on BOXING DAY last year, nothing surprises me anymore!

TinyCC · 31/08/2013 20:43

Card Factory have a large display of christmas cards in already as well.

SoleSource · 31/08/2013 20:43

MammaTJ Grin

I live 30 seconds from a huge Co-Op superstore and I avoid it like the plague. Loathe the place. Too expensive.
