Leave the timings as text though, they mess everything up

Wow! I never knew that! Thanks!!

I used to love Access more than I loved my husband (not as irrational as it sounds) but am several versions out of date now. I'd like to get up to speed with it again, as building websites just so I can process data on them probably isn't all that smart. Or, okay, it is fairly smart, but not as smart as knowing how to use a sophisticated DB tool with pre-written code is smarter!

Recommended 2010 Access tutorials for users who aren't beginners, but aren't very good either?

garlicbargain · 28/08/2013 00:23

Hah, looking at the verbal logic in my post above, it's clear why I struggle with data processing Blush

Coco pops good, SPB! :)

SPBisResisting · 28/08/2013 00:27

Your thread has made me decide to allocate enough time to work through the tuts methodically. You're an accidental Access evangelist Wink

The coco pops seem to have perked you up! Well done, sleep tight, and treat yourself to a highly indulgent breakfast before continuing :)

SPBisResisting · 28/08/2013 06:59

Hmm do breakfast biscuits and a load of coffee help :o
Good luck with the tutorials, let us know how you're gettin on. Lol at accidental access evangelist - what a tongue twister

Why the hell would you take a number (in a calculation package) and convert it to a format that requires more overhead with less functionality? Insane Confused

SPBisResisting · 28/08/2013 08:30

I dont know what she means by timings? As in a time field? In which case yes they are incredinly difficult to deal with and sometimes it is better to do some manipulation. I dont really do a lot with time fields though.

I am getting there tbh holding the data in access and pivot in excel. But it has been so frustrating and such a waste of time :(

SPBisResisting · 28/08/2013 12:37

Load it on or give me permissions to create databases.
