DH's reaction to my hairdo.

He didn't mean to be mean. But just when I was feeling a million dollars after a fairly radical colour change ...

Me: "?"
DH: "It looks exactly the same!"
Me (stepping out of shade): "?"
DH: Hmm
Me: Confused
DH: "Oh yeah, the colour's different. But what about... did you have the car window open while you were driving?"
Me: Sad and Angry

Grr! Do I ignore and continue to feel a million dollars or do I rush back to salon in tears?

I am sure you look fantastic. my dh and grown up dss wouldn't bat an eye lid if I dyed my hair green I think.

now dds can spot an eye brow wax at 10 paces.

I don't think the salon can do much for your DHs plonkernes...

You have eyes and saw that your hair looks good, so i would go back to swishing your hair and feeling great Smile

Do you trust your DH's views on womens fashion more than your own? If not, then ignore him and dine our on it for months, or until next time...

But salons always fart about with "product" in the way you can't really re-create at home, so is he responding to that, rather than the cut itself?

My H would not notice if I did something different with my hair. Like most guys I think.

Dh is the same.
I had mine cut/regrowth coloured today. Nothing radical, but about 1 inch shorter and drastically thinned out.

Dh comes in and says " have you been?"

I just bent down to show him the lack of grey Grin

He is bald. No idea about hair.

I think as a general rule straight men only really notice your attire/appearance if you are wearing a miniskirt and stockings. Possibly if you have long hair and chop it all off, on a good day. Or clown makeup.

Or you could LTB, of course.

I had almost waist length hair cut up to my shoulders, DP didn't notice Grin

TBF, I don't always notice when he's had his hair cut either!

DH got smart and started to take notice of my hair appointments written on the calender so he would say "your hair looks nice" (whilst probably wondering what is different).

I had to laugh the week he said this but I'd actually taken DS to the hairdressers. Grin

Ive posted this before but DH friend used to look on the kitchen calendar and see when his DW was going to hairdressers then when she got in he would say 'hair looks nice today love' she thought he was very observant until he did it when she had actually cancelled her appointment Grin

DH played a blinder when I had a radical change of haircut. Made all the right noises. Unlike my (admittedly slightly odd) work colleague who said "why have you gone and got a wee girl's primary school haircut? It was nicer before."

Some blokes are just not very observant. I turned up at XP's house with my nose pierced - red, sore, enormous new piercing stud, y'know. Eventually his sister asked if he'd noticed anything different about me. We had to tell him. He thought I'd always had it. Grin

Loads of people could give you compliments, but they fade into insignificance compared to just the one negative comment.

Dh is useless too. I cut my shoulder length, dark hair the other week. Shaved the back, cut one side short and the other side left longer (it is lovely really Grin) and went blonde. DH didn't notice until i pointed it out to him. His reply "oh I liked it long" said in a whiney voice . Yes he liked it so much he didn't even know it was gone Hmm.

To be fair, I didn't notice DH had a moustache for about 2 years. He is very fair and it was just like bum fluff and I wouldn't wear my glasses.

It was only when we were on holiday and one of those people cutting out paper silhouettes for tourists did one of DH. I asked him what the extra bit of paper under his nose was !!

I got bored today and cut myself a fringe. It's not brilliant. If DH ever does notice I'll tell him it's a fringe event [geek]

When I got my hair done for my wedding (a few weeks in advance, not the Actual Hairdo) I had 10 inches cut off and had highlights for the first time.

Do you think he noticed?!

not DH but my late dad.

on a very very hot day I had enough of my long hair, about 2 feet long.
I had a crew cut. no phasing out, just all off, but 1/2 inch.
I looked like Keanu Reeves in Speed.

when I went home my dad didn't notice, even when I turned around to go upstairs, zilch.

maybe the next morning? Nothing. my mum had to bring his attention to it!
but the hilarious part is that he was a detective in an anti-terrorist unit, where being good at observing is vital skill!Grin Grin Grin
