To think someone may have broken into my house.....

And just turned a tap on and taken a net curtain down?!
Got back from work and bathroom tap was on and net curtain in hall had been taken down and carefully placed on nearby chest, nothing was taken and no sign of forced entry!

Totally puzzled by this as no one had legitimately been in the house all day so what explanation could there be???

Its a ghost :-D

Isityouorme · 24/06/2013 16:45

Who else has access? Have you got a (clever) cat?

Strange .....

Finola1step · 24/06/2013 16:46

More info please OP. Does anyone else live in your house? Have you given spare keys to anyone (neighbours etc)?

KobayashiMaru · 24/06/2013 17:02

Doesn't sound very likely, does it? Burglers that take nothing, leave no damage or sign of entry? Horses, not zebras.

ParsingFancy · 24/06/2013 17:03

And the horses in this case are...?

KobayashiMaru · 24/06/2013 17:05

Someone with a key, for a start. Someone who actually lives in the house, most likely.

Sarah1611 · 24/06/2013 17:05

This shouts 'cat' to me...

SoupDragon · 24/06/2013 17:06

So, you think horses broke in and did this to the OPs house rather than the zebras? Confused

GemmaTeller · 24/06/2013 17:08

Cat chasing a fly or wasp

BadgersNadgers · 24/06/2013 17:09

Has your MIL got a key?

NotQuiteWithItAtAll · 24/06/2013 17:09

I definitely think it's them pesky zebra's that are to blame. Who'd of thought it.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 24/06/2013 17:11

Was the net curtain folded or just lying there?

Do you have any pets?

Does anyone else live in the house or have a key?

BrianTheMole · 24/06/2013 17:11

Creepy. Has anyone got a key?

Seasidermum · 24/06/2013 17:11

Already checked that exdh hadn't been here and nope he has been working all day, my ds was at primary schools and no one else has a key.
Can cats really turn taps on? Had my cat for 9 years and she has never done it before......

Argh The Fall. The guy in that didn't take anything!

Seriously though... cat or neighbour.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 24/06/2013 17:12

Maybe she has but she's always turned it off before Grin

SupermansBigRedPants · 24/06/2013 17:12

Someone with a key - horse
Burglar - zebra

I say it's a parent, 2 years ago Chaos mum took a toaster for some inane reason - it was nuts Grin

WafflyVersatile · 24/06/2013 17:12

DP come home, had a wee. mid way through washing hands spotted something that needed 'fixing' about the curtain. took it down. realised he needed a widget and nipped to the nearest B&Q (1.5 hour round trip) isn't back yet.

Seasidermum · 24/06/2013 17:23

It's just me and my DS living here right now, maybe I am getting premature dementia and it was me what dunnit before I went to work this morning!

Could it have fallen onto the chest or did it require human assistance to get there?

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 24/06/2013 17:29

I bet your son didn't turn the tap off properly and your cat clawed the net curtain and played with it for a bit and it ended up on the chest.

MatersMate · 24/06/2013 17:40

Is it a bar tap (not sure what they're called) or a turny tap? If it's a bar one, I'm in the cat camp.

Seasidermum · 24/06/2013 17:52

My son was at his dads last night so can't blame him! Might have been me who left tap on but never done so before, it's a bar/lever one so guess cat might have done it! Just tested net curtain and was not where it would fall BUT cat could have got claws in it and dragged it there......she did meow at me when I came in so was prob her trying to tell me what she'd been up to.
Would much rather have that as a solution than the idea that some stranger has been in my house fiddling with my stuff so will go with that I think :)

MatersMate · 24/06/2013 19:26

yes, go with the cat, (is there a cat uprising? seem to be seeing lots of cat mischief on MN lately)

the chances of a burglar just fussing with your nets and turning a tap on are......nil! :)
