Wow - I'm going to be good at this! My fist two tries I got 730 km away from the spot, and the second one (which was basically just fields and a country lane so not much to go on at all) I got 1000km away. Not bad I think.

Can anyone work out how to manipulate the map more accurately? I can zoom in and out but I can't get it to go from side to side so I can't be as accurate as I'd like - as soon as I zoom in half the map goes off the side of the page.

My first game I got 11700 points. I'm really impressed with myself - I have guessed the places pretty damned accurately without too much time searching involved at all. I could have been far more accurate if only I had been able to manipulate the map more easily. I must be doing something wrong - I can only get the cursor to go loosly near where I want to be. For example the last one I guessed was a Spanish island, probably Majorca. It turned out to be Menorca, but the closest I could get my maker was in Morocco!

I'm just getting frustrated now. If I was to zoom in I can get right down to the cities, so long as they are in Africa.

Can't get left or right at all, or up and down at all, so I have no degree of accuracy outside of Africa. I must be doing something wrong or missing something.

I got 10106 just now - good guesses for North and South America, and two rounds were Japan (do they pinpoint your current location?). I guessed New Zealand for one round but it was S.Africa!

My very closest guess was 76 km away from a coastal port near Naples, Italy...

Tante !!!! Tell me how you are managing to zoom in so accurately on one spot in Japan please? I can't get my map to go from side to side or up and down at all - it's fixed with Africa in the centre. I the only way I can see east and west on the world map at all is if I pan right out, so I'm not sure I'm even sticking my flag in the right country, never mind the right town!

TRF if you have a mouse with a wheel on it hover he curser over the map and use the wheel to zoom.

I'm on my iPhone and am just zooming in and out like you would with any other map
