To be thinking of trying again?

I recently had a MMC at 14 weeks :( Its been an incredibly hard few weeks but I am keen to start trying again. I had an ERPC last week and bleeding has almost stopped. I'm seeing so much conflicting advice regarding trying again. Some say 3 months others say you can try again right after your next period. Has anyone tried again very soon after a mc and got pregnant? We usually get PG very quickly but now I'm worried if do get pregnant on that next cycle it will just end in another MC as I haven't let me body recover. Any advice appreciated x

Hi red wall, I had my first miscarriage many years ago and was advised to wait at least 6 months. Last summer I had another one and was told by my GP that the best thing was to wait for one bleed after the actually miscarriage was over and then try again as soon as I felt emotionally ready. The waiting for one bleed is purely to give you a more accurate idea about dates. There are now quite a few studies that show that post miscarriage but within 6 months you actually have a greater chance of conceiving successfully and having a successful pregnancy than leaving it longer. These studies are only with fairly small numbers at present but there is growing evidence apparently (my GP is a fertility specialist so pointed us towards all of this.) it definitely seemed to work for us as I am now 35 weeks pregnant without first; a baby boy. So sorry for all that you have gone through, but please be reassured that there is ago of chance of a happy ending for you. X

Thank you for your message. That really does give me some hope! I've already got two beautiful children and this is the first time I've lost a baby so I'm hoping the odds are still in my favour. The information out there seems very confusing and the lack of support is quite shocking. I appreciate options of people who have been through it and come out the other side.

Sorry for you loss OP.

I've had 3 miscarriages over the years. My first had complications, so we had to wait, but my subsequent losses were all picked up at 12 weeks. I had one normal period and started again.
I was never advised to wait and caught pretty much straight away, resulting in a very healthy pregnancy each time.

Best of luck to you xxx
