To not understand the MN obsession with shopping lists?

Even my own shopping list is boring, why is someone else's seen as MN entertainment unless they are buying deep fried unicorns or something equally weird.

Is it just me?

I don't think it is (either obsession or entertainment) in itself, more that it's an in-joke, stemming from some thread or other. (naice ham?) Like the whole pombear/penguin/red rug stuff.

TenPenceMixture · 17/04/2013 08:05

Mmmm okay, if the list had something stylish or slatterny on it, I could get it.

But on the times I have clicked in list threads they are just normal lists - that's the ones that Confused me

people like to feel part of it?

KatoPotato · 17/04/2013 08:08

Check the one on my profile, it was brilliant!

GibberTheMonkey · 17/04/2013 08:09

People also like the speculation. To feel like detectives.
I don't tend to post on the threads much but I do find them intriguing.

couldn't agree more tenpencemixture

my life is sad and boring but christ, the day I keep someone elses shopping list to copy onto a website for others to read is the day I stick my head in the oven

Rainbowinthesky · 17/04/2013 08:12

I was going to post here to agree with the OP until I read Katopotato's shopping list - it is really funny!

Wincher · 17/04/2013 08:16

I agree - there are very often lists left in the trolleys at my local supermarket and they are always v boring! It isn't an event at all to find a list.

TenPenceMixture · 17/04/2013 08:19

kato your to do list is funny, I grant you. Is it your to do list, in which case what an interesting and errrr diverse life you lead Grin
